Do you remember when the stepmother smashed that glass slipper against the wall?!

@Lucky Dog .......you mean, this????  LOL,  She was a wicked stepmother.  Cate Blanchett played this part brilliantly!!!

Re: YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY MOVIE OF ALL TIME

@kittykatkay -

When my kids were little, my brother-in-law gave us his old vcr. We were able to watch The Little Mermaid and it was like the best present ever! We had never seen anything like it.

So for my daughters, that was our favorite. But then came Beauty and the Beast, one daughter's favorite and now Moana, my youngest and my favorite.

All my children loved the Lion King.

I thought it was so sad, I never wanted to see it again but since it was their favorite at the time, I got it for them.

And another favorite of mine is Pochahontas for the message and the songs.

You see it is hard to choose just one.

But probably now our favorite is Moana, though the grandkids would say

You guessed it- Frozen! Frozen 2! Adventures of Olaf!

Not my favorite but it seems to be the Harry Potter of Disney movies for this youngest generation!Woman LOL

What we love to do now, is play all the Disney songs and sing and dance to them all!

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew. Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? can you paint with all the colors of the wind?"

As a kid I loved Lady and the Tramp.

I was a Haley Mills fan and knew every word of Parent Trap.  A friend and I would do scenes from it.

Also my daughter danced her routine in a pageant to "A Dream is a wish your heart makes."

We still love that song but that pageant experience, not so much!

Well, it got out of her system.

Re: YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY MOVIE OF ALL TIME

kittykatkay,

I did not even know there was a new version until now when I "read backwards" and saw candlequeen's post and then yours.

I'm stuck on the original, naturally (as I know my nature).  Nothing will move me from that one.

I like a lot of them but Mary Poppins is my all time favorite. I don't even know how many times I have seen it.  The story of how Walt Disney convinced P.L.Travers to agree to him making the film is the basis for the movie Saving Mr. Banks that came out a few years ago. Tom Hanks played Walt Disney.  It was really good.

@on the bay ....now you know that "pageant experience" is something you both hold in your heart.

Speaking of vcr's that you mentioned above...now that's a "Blast From the Past"....lol.

Anyway, about 3 years ago, I bought a VCR and DVD recorder/player from HSN.  It can transfer VCR movies onto DVD disks and vice versa (but of course hard to find VCR tapes and who would want those), BUT it can also record from the television and I do alot of recording from TV onto my blank DVD disks.  They don't sell them anymore, and I wish they would.  I did buy a backup because I knew it would be hard to get another one and I love this recorder so much!!!
