@patbz When the show cast was announced it was made known that she is the daughter of Laurie Metcalf, who I think was one of the BEST parts of the Roseanne series.

 

I love Sheldon's mom. She seems straight laced but can bend and is very understanding of Sheldon's special quirks and abilities.

 

In TBBT Sheldon did mention that his father died when Sheldon was 14 so from what I read online, that will be worked into the series.

 

The series has been renewed for 3 more seasons yay!

Three more seasons (at least!) - yay! Smiley Happy   

 

Since the beginning I've thought it was really cool how Laurie Metcalf's daughter would be playing Young Sheldon's mother.   She looks so much like her mom and has some of the mannerisms, that it's just perfect. 

 

I agree that Metcalf was one of the best things about the Roseanne show and I'm glad she's still a part of The Conners.  She is a really good performer.  Her daughter has inherited that from her, IMO.

I love this show and wish it was an hour long. Perfect casting and great writing.
