Of course Phyllis hasn't lost any 'cognitive skills' while laying in a bed for a year. If anything, she's gained super-human strength - look at her do crunches and arm curls. This anti-coma 'juice' seems to have a Hulk-like effect. Perhaps some more research should be done.
Dr Cutler did say Phyllis' personality might change. If not for the straps on her head, she'd probably be found flopping around on the floor. Clearly they aren't being closely monitored ... Pity Phyllis doesn't just have a button to push to summon help..

I just read an amazing story by a young man who was in a coma. He said he could hear everything going on around him.
It's an amazing account.
