@eddyandme  As soon as I heard Celeste Rosales was due in town I specuated she'd be Jack's next flame... Batten down the hatches because I've also long felt we will never be rid of Lola... I know most of us can't stand her, but apparently the character has her fans and the writers have invested too much in her to drop her like the loser we know her to be...

Each to their own, but I'm not getting all the angst about Adam's acting... Let's face it, few of these actors are Oscar caliber and I personally think he holds his own with most of them. To me, he's easily as convincing as many of the rest and more than some. They have given him some stupid lines, but that's hardly his choice. Let's face it, if one trick pony actors like NIck and Devon have lasted on this show as long as they have, then I'm sure not going to be throwing shade at Adam... At least not yet...

Don't know if they'll turn the show around or not. Theres a lot of qwap to sift through, but other than days when the focus is on the usual pointless characters (Cane, Devon, Tessa and so on) I've been getting a different and better vibe than I have for a while. Like him or not, Adam's return has put the Newman family back front and center, which has been missing, as far as I'm concerned. Now, if they can just do something to make the Abbotts interesting again... And no, Lola and Kyle are SO NOT the answer...

I'll tell you, Good Doc Nate is a miracle worker, ain't he... I've said it before, but how that man can manage every aspect of what goes in in GC's hospital just amazes me... He sees them in the ER and then takes care of their surgical needs... The man is brilliant... Whatever...

Dr. Nate and his vast area of expertise is a peeve of mine too. He does all types of surgery, including the extreme specialties like kidney transplants with seemingly no help; consults on stress (Victoria) and multiple sclerosis and probably they will have him be a specialist in other fields too. Ridiculous. (How did he have time to hang out at “Society” to bother Abby? I notice New-Nate isn’t working out all the time!)

Hospitals just don’t work this way.  It would be one thing if they portrayed GC Memorial as a small community hospital but, they have made out that it is advanced.  

It does seem like the show could hire a handful of extras and “under-fives” to be the emergency room/trauma center doctors even if they don’t want to develop the characters.  

I wish they would bring back Casey, Nikki’s sister the doctor. (Or did they kill her off?) or Jill’s brother Snapper who was a doctor. (I am with @Annabellethecat66 - loved original Snapper, William Gray Espy.)

@trenet It's ludicrous. They clearly are desperate to find a niche for this character and this is one way to include him in any scene involving health care... It would be less annoying too if they'd ever get the casting right, assuming they just have to have him at all... Agree too, a few day players would be far more believable than expecting us to buy that this joker is certified in multiple specialities...

I go all of the way back to the beginning of this show.  Like I remembered exactly "Snapper's" real name.  I remembered what he looked like, etc.

But try as hard as I can I don't remember way, way back when they used to do that fast track aging back then.  I just don't remember.

Does anyone else remember way back in the early years if soaps, any soaps aged their characters overnight like they do now?  I'm talking about way back.

I don’t remember if soaps rapidly aged their characters way back either; if they did, I don’t think it was as prevalent. I grew up watching soaps with my Mom; when little it was Love of Life, Search for Tomorrow, The Secret Storm, Edge of Night, Guiding Light and As the World Turns.  I sure wish there were complete shows of those available online. 

I was a irregular viewer of Y&R at the beginning (in college and sometimes I had to go to classes!) - loved those early days with the Brooks and the Fosters.  

After you mentioned William Grey Espy, I googled him. He is involved with wildlife preservation in Alabama.

Well, I am genuinely trying, but the past week or so's episodes are just not in the least interesting to me.  Is it the new Adam?  I don't know. I'm  tired of fighting brothers and sisters, tired of someone being in the hospital constsantly, not seeing any place interesting that this show can go in the forseeable future.  For a moment I thought that there might be a new love interest for Jack, but it seems that didn't fly. Too bad. It seemed like someone close to his age.  Sorry, writers, but things are really boring and not looking like it's going to improve in the near future. Maybe you'll get some of the silliness out of your writings during the summer when it's your intention to appeal to a new and younger audience. If not I'll be looking for something new to do for an hour in the fall.

Summary for Wednesday, May 22nd from soaps.com:

Billy visits Cordelia’s grave and tells her about going camping with Victoria. He misses her. Things were a little less painful when Adam was supposed to be dead. But he’s back and so is his rage.

Billy drops by the Newman offices to see Victor. He wants to talk about Adam’s return. Victor isn’t interested in talking. Billy thinks Adam should be dead or suffering and assumes Victor only brought him back because he felt guilty for once. The mustache asks what he would do if he had the chance to bring Delia back. Billy doesn’t accept the comparison and points out how destructive Adam is for everyone.

Victoria visits Adam at the hospital. He’s missed their bickering. She wants to know his agenda. He’s sarcastic and she insists he’s not threatening. Pushing, she wants to know what their father offered him. Adam wants to talk to her and Nick together. She offers to call her brother immediately, but Adam insists on waiting until he’s rested more and his killer is caught. Later, Victor drops by to discuss the future. Adam says he’s taking things slow. Victor wants to see him take his life back in his hands. He won’t explain what he means by that. the mustache goes off to talk to his doctor. He needs his son released quick. Meanwhile, Adam gets a text from someone saying they’ve found a fall guy for him.

Victoria and Billy sit in the park and discuss Adam. She doesn’t want to think the worst of her brother, but Billy says he’s earned it.

At the penthouse, Devon and Jett listen to a recording they made at Society. Jett is eager to get back on the road and see if he has a comeback in him. As they talk about that, Elena interrupts and worries about Jett losing his voice permanently. While they are debating this, Michael arrives. The lawyer tells Devon that he can’t put it off any longer and needs to deal with Neil’s will. Devon isn’t ready for more closure; he’s barely over Hilary. Michael reminds him that he’s also there as his friend as well as his lawyer and wants to see him happy again.

At Sharon’s, she warns Rey about how hard it is to deal with tween girls. Faith comes down and tells Rey he better impress her during their trip outside. In the yard, Rey and Faith play with his drone. He’s nervous but she’s good at it. She says her mom is too nice sometimes and she worries about the men she dates. He knows it must be hard to see her mom get hurt, but she’s strong. Sharon interrupts and her daughter says she’s fine with Rey. She might as well ask him to move in. When they go back inside, Sharon thinks Faith should apologize for being so forward. Faith insists she just wanted to be straight about things. Once the girl goes upstairs, Rey hopes he’s not causing any problems. Sharon assures him that things are fine and her daughter just needs time to get used to him. He admits that the prospect of moving in doesn’t scare him, but Faith is the one to ask. After he leaves, Faith returns and apologizes if she was harsh on Rey. They talk about how much he seems to care about Sharon. She asks her daughter to keep an open mind about him and think about if they could be happy together. Faith says it’s possible.

In Crimson Lights, Lola and Kyle look for apartments online. They debate their renting budget and what kind of place they want. Rey interrupts and is surprised to see them planning to move in together. He asks Kyle if he’s even divorced yet. Kyle insists Summer won’t be an issue. Lola tells her brother not to be so protective; this is what she wants. They get a call about a rental and rush off. Rey calls Sharon and tells her he’s determined to win her daughter over. He asks if he can move in. She wants that. The cop promises to be the guy she and her daughter deserve. Meanwhile, Elena, Jett and Ana sit at a table and argue about his tour plans. He’s eager to spend whatever time he has left doing what he wants. Elena finally backs down and admits she wants to keep an eye on him, even if that means leaving town. Jett tells her he can look after his health and she doesn’t need to give up her home to watch him. He’d like to see what she can do on her own.

Elena returns to the penthouse and talks to Devon about his meeting. They discuss Jett’s plans and she asks if it would be better if she stays in Genoa City. Devon certainly thinks so. She’s ready to start thinking about the future and so is he. They are interrupted by a call from Michael and Devon agrees to schedule the will reading.

@trenet  Soaps have always aged kids into teens and teens into adults, but not as frequently, quickly or as glaringly as they do now... That's my take, anyway...
