Y & R Junkies : Victor & Faith

My heart just broke for little Faith on Friday. Victor, in all his evil ways, still adores that child and she, him. He is a positive & important influence in her life up until now.

I think this storyline does an excellent job presenting family dynamics in how the children are destroyed by their parents & extended family quarrels. Very eye opening to say the least. Perhaps this will serve as the catalyst to bring Nick & Dad back together, seeing how Faith is so devastated. I know angst is necessary in soap land, but I like the Newman's and Grandkids on the same page, peacefully coexisting. The Abbotts, Chancellors, Winters families can have all the angst, just not the Newmans, please.

I know some people do not care for Faith, I think she is adorable and her portrayor a good little actress, to boot. For being born with a silver spoon in her mouth, she actually is quite sweet. I loved when they used to show her helping Mom with Sully/Christian.

Speaking of Sully, the character of Dylan needs to be recast if Adam is not being brought back. I miss Dylan and Sharon could use a shake up with her boy toy. LOL

@deedledeedeedle

I think their relationship shows that, with the right actors and writing, you don't have to rapidly age every child.

Faith looked so cute with her little braid.

Re: Y & R Junkies : Victor & Faith

I beg to differ.....I think this storyline does an excellent job of showing how you NEVER bring children into adult situations....Adults should always show a united front to the kids and any bickering and/or fighting contained to not include them in any way.

To make the assumption that people who are born with a "silver spoon in their mouth" cannot be "sweet" is just a little short sighted. The amount of money you were born into or grew up with need not necessarily have a negative impact and , in my experience , does not. I will also say that the children of wealth, who have been part of my life, would never speak to or engage with parents/adults the way Faith does.

Good entertainment to many but , believe me, not reality based.

Just curious.....why a new thread for this ? Did you not see the existing Y&R

thread ?

Re: Y & R Junkies : Victor & Faith

I think the little girl who plays Faith is very good in the show....and i couldn't help but wonder why they are making Victor look "so bad"......so that his family is all against him and hating on him.....i know they have done storylines with them against him before but this time it seems to be to be longer and alot more unforgivable stuff....was wondering if the guy who plays Victor is going to slowly ease out of the soap..................he  is getting up on years and it can't be too easy for him..........................although i think he adds alot to the show.................I liked Dylan too with Sharon....it almost seemed like a real relationship for her ...now this young guy....just a short fling type thing...and i just can't take her acting so "concerned" about Crystal....and HOW IS SHE DOING COUNSELING OVER THE PHONE...with her background?? haha..........And if they are gonna bring back Adam they should soon........ it is getting so long no one will care anymore....................................And lets get done with the headaches w/Victoria....just weird........and Caine is SO unlikeable these days....gonna be hard later on to try to make him likable if they chose to....I had also hoped Graham was a good guy....wondered if he was maybe actually Jack's mom's son somehow........and can't take the Miriah and Guitar girl thing...ugh.. ...i had actually thought a long time ago when Miriah met Phyllis's son who was involved in Cassie's accident...seemed a good couple and would have made a great storyline of him dating Cassie's look alike and how the family handled things.................i liked her w/Devon too....but could see they werent' gonna keep up with that relationship...................oh well...enjoy these soaps..............would love to write them...hahaha.....

but better then most of the shows on today......

and i think it is fine you started a new thread....the others are so hidden and these are more up to date and relavent..

Re: Y & R Junkies : Victor & Faith

I don't think I would want my child exposed to Vicotor who is just evil, controlling and not a person I would ever allow a child around.  She will soon find that out.  Nick has show remarkable restraint by not telling Faith the truth that Victor is the reason he had to move!!!

Re: Y & R Junkies : Victor & Faith

I agree with Kelsey 17 - the little girl who plays Faith is absoluely adorable and very talented. She's going to be around in movies, etc for a long time.   As for Victor, I don't think he is going anywhere.  He IS the soap.  It's been designed around him from the beginning. I remember the first show of this soap -  its always been all about Victor, as it still is. He never had any love as a child, and I think he is doing the best he can to love his family, despite always being misunderstood and despite his mistakes. I don't really know his age, but I suspect he is younger than me.  I think he's going to ba around for a long time as well. When he goes, I'm afraid the soap goes too.

I did like Sharon and Dylan, and they can always bring him back from the witness protection program. But I think that eventually Sharon will be back with Nick.  I like Scott, but I see him getting together with Abby one day. I don't care for her at all, but I think she'll be around for a while too.  As for Sharon and the Crystal thing, after all the things her character has been through, she should be able to help anybody with anything based on personal experience. Not very interested in the Crystal storyline, and not wild about the Tessa character - certainly not with Noah.  They said in the beginning that they would not bring back the Adam character.  He's been back and forth before, and that's probably enough. However, Chelsea and Nick will be over when he finds out the secrets she is keeping about "his" baby.

Poor Victoria.  Another Debbie Downer story line.  Someone needs to get this poor lady to a Neurologist.  But I like the actress so much better than Heather Tom, whom I didn't like in that role at all.  Glad she left.  I feel sure they will find a way to get Billy back for Victoria - maybe if she becomes very ill that may do it.

I don't know where they are going with the Hillary character, but I truly hope it out of this soap.  I intensely dislike her role, but I guess that's why they have it - they need another villan besides Phyllis.  But does she have to be everywhere all the time in every episode?  Cane will finally get back with Lily, but not until they both go through other relationships. Someone needs to take a comb (or maybe some Wen) to Reed's hair. And don't put poor Nikki into those white pants again!  An awful spectacle.  Best actor award goes to Peter Bergman. He's always good - even when he's being very bad.

Enough for now.  Enjoy the soap. I agree it's probably the best ongoing series of any kind on television today. There are some real losers!! And thanks for the new thread. Didn't find another one for several pages.

Re: Y & R Junkies : Victor & Faith

LOL I agree with Nicki's white jeans and tucked in tops. Those days are best left behind. Time to face realities of time. Happens to all of us no big deal.

Victor, is a hopeless case be glad when he goes to nursing home.

Glad to see Nicki telling off that old battleax Dina who thinks she is so high and mighty. Talk about pot calling kettle black. Nicki, needs to stay with Jack or find another man if that's what she wants just leave Victor to his own devices.  That ship has sailed. She's to stupid to know he is not ever gonna change . Not likely when he's pushing 80. She's loaded why does she need to take any s*i* from him any more.

Ashley, needs to leave Graham alone. Whatever kind of man he is the old lady is down with it, so, MYOB Ashley. She's got her own money let Graham fleece her she's not fighting it.

Reed and Lauren's son, Scott,  need to find a barber look like unkempt sheep dogs.

HIlary is beautiful , but, evil , get rid of that B. Hope Mariah goes with Tessa and say -----to Devon.

Noah, is the only decent person in the bunch. Victoria, must not be capable of finding anybody except that roadkill Billy. Lose that quack Dr. too and find a good specialist. Obvious, she has something wrong with her. Victor, can find her the best man for the job.

Show , is a bore any more can't understand why it keeps getting good ratings and being renewed. Fix must be in somewheres. LOL
