At the hospital, Devon is wheeled in on a stretcher. Stitch is there barking out orders.

In the penthouse, Hilary takes a call from the hospital and tells Neil that Devon was in a car accident. “We need to go!”

Hilary and Neil arrive at the hospital and learn Devon is in surgery and has internal bleeding. Stitch reveals he was driving at a high speed when he crashed. Neil intones, “He never should have been in that car.” There is animosity between Hilary and Neil, but when she breaks down, he holds her.

Victor asks Victoria, “Reed suddenly shows up on your doorstep…what’s going on?”

Lily hollers at Hilary, “It is because of you that he was in that car! If he doesn’t make it through, it is on you!”

Devon is unconscious in his hospital bed hooked up to machines.

Angela Lin appears as Roz on January 3.

Steve Burton has wrapped up his role, and his last airdate will be in January 2017.

There is a casting call for an African-American male who is a minimum of six feet tall, and in his early 30s for the role of Ryder. He is a photographer with sex appeal and swagger.

Tristan Rogers returns as Colin Atkinson in a four-episode arc on January 30, 2017.

Tristan Lake Leabu has been cast in the role of Reed Hellstrom.

Summary for Monday, January 2nd from soaps.com:

At the station, Christine and Dylan go over the file on his new identity, Derek Young. Dylan assures her he’s ready for this. Chris gives him an untraceable firearm. Kevin enters – he is Dylan’s sole contact. They brief him on using his recording device and getting close to the gatekeeper. Dylan is determined to nail Fisk, though Christine orders him not to take unnecessary risks.

In Sharon’s place, she asks Mariah how last night went. Mariah stammers a reply and tries to distract Sharon, who is looking up the event online. Sharon learns Hilary is the one who tripped her. Mariah admits she helped Hilary confess at the gala. Sharon is concerned about the fallout on Mariah, who defends her actions. Sharon says, “You were better than her…until you weren’t.” She understands the urge to fight back, but can’t condone Mariah’s actions. She reminds her daughter that Devon trusted her. Mariah wonders if he’ll hate her now, and if she screwed up her job, but she couldn’t let Hilary get away with what she did to her. Sharon urges her to stop and think next time. After, Dylan arrives and says he’s leaving today. Sharon asks him not to go. She thinks his heart’s broken, but he insists it’s just work. He has to do this. Sharon is dismayed no contact is allowed and wonders what to tell Faith. Dylan says to tell her he loves her; he loves them both and will be thinking of both of them. Dylan gives Sharon his wedding ring to hold onto. They tearfully embrace and kiss. Sharon wants him to tell her he’ll be back home soon. He leaves.

Hilary awakens in the penthouse and realizes Devon didn’t come home. Neil arrives to speak to his son. Hilary tries to pretend everything’s fine. When Neil presses to see Devon, Hil admits he didn’t come home…or call. They rehash the reveal that she tripped Mariah. Hilary complains Mariah put the gala in jeopardy. Neil advises her to listen to herself. She tries unsuccessfully to reach Devon again, and then continues to bicker with Neil, accusing him of wanting her to suffer. Neil wants Devon to be happy and points out she’s caused a lot of drama. They argue heatedly. He warns that Devon is out there somewhere because of her and she might have lost the best thing in her life. Hilary concedes what she did was dumb and she wishes she hadn’t done it, but it’s between her and Devon.

At the scene of the crash, Devon is unconscious. Police and paramedics arrive as he comes around.

Victoria arrives at home and calls Reed to come downstairs. She spoke to his father, JT, who had no idea where he went. Reed wants to live there with her. Victoria shares that JT told her about his move to Warsaw for work – he has to go with the custodial parent. Reed protests that it’s halfway across the world. Billy arrives to see Reed and listens as Victoria and Reed debate his reluctance to relocate to Warsaw. Reed accuses Victoria of not knowing him anymore and goes for a walk. Billy wants to help with the situation, but Victoria warns he’s interfering and doesn’t get a vote. Billy advocates for Reed staying with her. Victoria debates him on it. Billy wants to talk about them getting too close last night. Victoria denies they would have kissed, or more, and gets irritated when he talks about their good times. He insists they have chemistry, which doesn’t just go away. Vikki isn’t interested in going backwards. Reed returns and apologizes before making another pitch to stay in Genoa City. Vikki will talk to JT.

And the casting calls don't look at all promising either... Not a bit...

@loveschocolate -I just started watching about 2 months ago. Friday's show with Victor and Nikki getting married was really cool. That was 32 years ago - the only other person I recognized was Eileen Davidson (what a hairdo!).
