Funny you say that because I also like him better than her...she is so fake...a phoney from head to toe.....and the way she rolls her eyes when he comments on anything shows how little respect she has for her husband.

I was suprised when I read this story, too.  However, who knows what goes on behind the camera.  I enjoy the two of them together and like watching the show.

@Tinkrbl44@CANDLEQUEEN Well, to begine with, here in So Ca women compete and financially and socially climb.  It's done especially in the OC where the couple is living.  Sounds shallow but it's very real.

wow,

I like their show, but who knows what goes on in peoples' private lives.

As for the classes,  anyone dumb enough to plunk down $20K for that isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer,  those types of real estate "classes" have been around for years.

I wish this couple well with their issues.

I watch their show occasionally, but I don't relate well to their CA lifestyle.   I am simple and plain; don't put on airs or try to impress; just straight up real, and know I am perfectly suited for West Virginia, not California.

If my husband and I flipped houses for a living, I know I would not be showing up on the job site dressed like Cristina!   Cameras or no cameras, I would be wearing sensible shoes, clothing that didn't look like it was painted on my body, and much simpler jewelry.   I wouldn't leave my house in many of the outfits she wears on the show.   Even for TV "entertainment", I find it a bit much.

That is sad news. I love their show and like both of them. They are often telling each other on air how they love each other. I will be praying they work it out.

Always sad, especially when children are involved.  Hope they can work it out.

I agree with the others who said we dont know what happens behind the scenes and behind closed doors. I feel bad for all parties involved, but especially the kids. It must be very stressful to be "on" all the time. I do watch the show occasionally

Remember the Nealys from Food Network? They were all lovey-dovey, ooey-gooey. Thought I would upchuck karo syrup! When it came out they were divorcing, they both said they couldnt stand each other and everything was for ratings

Those two were over the top with the lovey dovey stuff.  Couldn't watch them after a while.

I was shocked at the Tarek and Christina news and I wonder if she wanted out of the marriage.  I don't think it will work for those two to work together in the future if they divorce.

Re: Wow! I am shocked. Christina and Tarek from Flip or Flop

As someone else said, one never knows what goes on in someone else's marriage. i wish them well and especially hope they help their children through the process of adjusting to a divorce.

When I was growing up, to  say that we had the picture-perfect family would be an understatement. My parents were absolutely wonderful. We were the center of their lives. They were involved in PTA, girls brownies, Cub Scouts, you name it.  They had lots of friends and were active in the community. Most of our friends wanted to play at our house because my parents were just so great and our lives were so happy. Our lives were family centered with lots of gatherings, church, and happy times. Suddenly when I was 14, it all fell apart and they suddenly separated.  I always said that my parents had the most polite divorce in history, which took a year,  because there was no arguing and there never were any fights. They were very well behaved and kept any rancor away from the kids. But things were falling apart behind the scenes and nobody knew it. I was just telling my mother  again recently that for the children, a divorce is never really over. The parents can go their own ways and make happy marriages, which my parents did. I loved both of my stepparents. But no matter what, the children – I can only speak for myself – may  feel as if they're trying to ride two horses at the same time for the rest of their lives. You live, as a child  of divorce, in two worlds. Your mom's. Your dad's. You go back-and-forth and try to put it all together  but those two lives need to be somewhat separate because your parents have separated. For me it was as if I was split in two, and I spent decades in my own mind trying to make myself and my heart whole again. It took forever.  I only learned a handful of years ago that my brother went through the same process and only at about age 60 did he feel that he put himself back together too. Today, perhaps children automatically get counseling and help with getting through their parents' divorce.  I hope so. Back in the mid-1960s when no one else that we knew had parents divorcing, it just wasn't talked about, and we were left to figure out how to get along despite the constant care and love of our wonderful parents and eventually stepparents. Had you seen me then, you would have seen a bubbly, busy, happy teenager. Inside, I was scared, depressed, guilty because I couldn't  seem to help my parents, and in an emotional free fall.

Yes, pray for those kids.
