I just watched two Christmas movies over the weekend and it makes me so sad that women in Hollywood feel the need to tweak their looks. Both movies: Christmas Under the Northern Lights with Lauren Holly, and The Holiday Junkie with Jennifer Love Hewitt, had me checking the cast list because they were so unrecognizable. Both these ladies have always been so cute. Hewitt just fought back to naysayers who attacked her change in looks. There are so many female actors through the years who have changed so much, and not for the best. In the Northern Lights movie, Bruce Boxleitner also starred. While it took me a minute to realize who he was, it was because he'd aged since I'd seen him in anything, not because he had work done. This all just makes me sad that women feel they can't age naturally.

People who do that to their faces look terrible! I've also seen men like Kenny Rogers, wreck their faces with cosmetic surgery. They're so worried everytime they get a little wrinkle here and there, that they have to morph their faces into something grotesque & unrecognizable. I would rather take care of my skin & let myself age naturally. I've noticed going overboard is more of a California thing. In general, on the east coast, places like New York do it more tastefully.

What's worse is they feel the need to lie about it, as if we couldn't tell. There is such a stigma attached to it and really there shouldn't be. If someome wants to enhance themselves for whatever reason then do it. Just be honest about. That being said, I agree that there is more a push for Women to do it in Hollywood as if it's expexted they maintain their youth to get roles, and most go way overboard and look either freakish or like someone else. The sad part is most are doing it so young now too. I have seen Hewitt and she is one that doesn't look at all like her former self.

Hollywood actresses tweek their looks so they can continue to get movie roles.

Men are also unrecognizable after plastic surgery. Look at Mickey Roarke. He was a handsome man until he ruined his face with plastic surgery.

She's talking about women who go beyond tweeking. Martha Stewart did it right. She looks beautiful for an 80 year old woman.

It all started with false teeth and then eyeglasses, hair dye, wigs...

I tweak my looks everyday before I go out....when I get up after washing my face and hair, I style it and add makeup. I look a bit different than when I first roll out of bed!
As for plastic surgery, there have been times when I have thought about getting my eyes done since I don't like the bags or furrows under my eyes. I didn't have them many years ago and they don't look attractive. The only reason that I haven't is because I'm too afraid to do damage to my vision.

False teeth and eyeglasses are necessary to help you function with a good quality of life. Hair dye, wigs and unnecessary cosmetic surgery are vanity things that show you're insecure with yourself.

Helen Mirren, 79yo, appears not to have 'work done'. Her acting roles are age appropriate for her, she does a great job and looks good doing it. A perfect example of taking on ageism in Hollywood.
