Willie Nelson's 90th Birthday Celebration!

A big Willie Nelson fan here, though I'm not a huge country music fan.  I wasn't aware of Willie's 90th birthday celebration on tv which aired on the 17th of this month, until someone on this forum mentioned it.  I had my son search it out and he found it and was able to stream it on my big tv.  What a wonderful show and tribute with many country singers participating.  If you get a chance to see it, and I'm pretty sure it will be on Netflix at some point, don't hesitate to tune it and watch it.

I recorded it. It was so entertaining that I did not delete my recording. I was especially impressed with Lucas Nelson. His voice and style remind me of his father.

@ciao_bella Have you ever read his autobiography, "It's A Long Story?" Very good, well written, read! If your a fan, I think you'd enjoy it. I felt, reading it, it was evident he's such a prolific songwriter, because he's almost poetic in parts and it was so well written.

I am a huge country fan,  but was late to appreciating ole Willie, who's music I really like and appreciate now. I wish I'd seen him live before now. I know he's been touring through his 80's but I'm thinking that may not be the case now...and I think he's a bit up there to go see now, even if he still was touring.

Happy 90th to Willie. I honestly, had thought he was already in his 90's. Loved him and Merle together....YouTube some of their videos, very fun. A favorite of mine "It's All Goin' To Pot", together in the studio.

@amyb Willie is still touring. He will be in Florida for the month of February. The full schedule is online. Search Willie Nelson tour 2024.

@On It  Yes!  Lucas, his son, sounds sooo much like him!  I hadn't heard Lucas sing until this special.

@amyb  Thank you for the info on the autobiography.  I'll definitely look into it.   I, too, loved Merle!  What a voice and the two of them together, it doesn't get any better.

@On It   I was fortunate to see Willie in concert at the Giants Stadium,  Meadowlands NJ back in the 80s.  I was lucky enough to see and hear so many great country singers at that concert.

Nothing like riding in your car with the windows down and Willie Nelson singing Blue Skies on the radio.  Just the thought of it takes me to my happy place.

Im a HUGE Willie Nelson fan too! So this is an EASY question, Willie's version without hesitation 😃.
My all time favorite album is the RED Headed Stranger. I liken it to a Country Outlaw version of Pink Floyd's The Wall.  This album tells a story & is meant to be listened to from beginning to end.
