If I remember correctly, ID did a multi-night special on Ted Bundy years ago and it was also poorly done. I used to be kinda obsessed with the Ted Bundy story, probably because it came about during my college years so I knew a lot about the case. That ID special jumped around a lot too.

Histrionic dad has to go thru a trial (he drove a different car in every scene!), yet charges were dismissed against the mom? Things just don't make sense in that story.

I'm wondering if the dad wasn't on something.

I totally agree with you. Even it they thought she was adult it still seems she was mistreated. All the stuff they had on film. Just the girl having to stand against wall, was any of that stuff introduced in court. The dad said that she threatened them, did they ever go to the police? Your are correct, more confused after watching the program.

@ a real confusing mess with experts stating so many different ages based on bone scan .

as the police officer/detective said " the Barnetts got a pig in th poke " when they adopted Natalia .

though this is a curious rarity of a case , makes one think twice before adopting . appears the police and that blonde haired court tv lady say the Barnetts are responsible for Natalia for life . looks like they have their hands full with their biological sons

the fact that there was a deliberate and possibly monetary reason for hiding Natalia's growth abn by the 1st couple and maybe the birth mother , would not be fair to any adoptive parents who shoud be informed fully of any birth defects/ genetic defects of a child they might adopt. the barnetts adopted Natalia despite her overt birth defects of her feet/legs and many medical/surgical rx's were provided then all the medical services of specialists to determine her age which is still in dispute.

now as far as info from the birth mother as to when Natalia was born - is she reliable and was there a legal birth record or was there a corrupt Ukraine adoption agency involved ? as far as that dad, barnett , his eyes were all bulging and agree with other posters , he did not come across as credible. interviews with neighbors who were all judgemental of barnetts, but then they eventually had issues with Natalia . what abt the sexual abuse allegations by Natalia of some neighbor kid - what happened there?

agree the format was not easy to follow with all there people interviewed and even the court tv lady giving her 2 cents .

logically , you would think some medical expert should get to th bottom of Natalia's age and why she had pubic hair and was she menstruating
