Oh, good.  I thought it might just be free for a few months.  I do the free mini crossword and Spelling Bee every morning, along with Wordle.

My sister and I compete on who can get the word first, and in the least amount of tries.  We love it!

i had not heard this at all......and the amount it sold for was never really disclosed. all i had heard was that it sold for in the low seven figure range. NYT said that wordle would "initially remain free to current and new users."

i play it daily and post my results on both facebook and in a group chat with my daughters. i never start with the same word. i may be listening to the radio or tv and when a 5 letter word jumps out at me i use it. i have only missed the word once and i was so upset! lol

i have gotten the word in as little as two tries. i enjoy it!

have not tried any of the knockoffs......sweardle, worldle (indentifying countries), nerdle, wordle2.

happy word hunting!

@sophiamarie Hi Soph!  I do, I do!  Make sure it's the New York Times one.  Wordle NYT or something like that.

I've seen the word pop up but I don't really know what it is or how to play.

@sunshine45   Are you giving the answer away??

ETA:  When you post it on FB or in a chat, are you giving the answers away, or just letting people know how long it took to find the word?

Love wordle.  Highly addictive.   My DD sent me a link for "Octordle"!  Eight of them.  I haven't tried that one yet.

@sophiamarie , when you share them it doesn't give the answer, just shows your progress.

@sophiamarie

it does not give the answer away.

you use their copy link and it will show your steps and positions (right letter, right letter wrong space, and wrong letter), but not what letters you used and not the final word.
