I agree! I really enjoy this show. Watch on Ovation, but also watch On Demand. Well done stories, acting and dialogue...scenery is beautiful!! I do turn on CC because sometimes their English accents make the dialogue difficult hard to make out...

I fall asleep to Forensic Files most nights. Plus I watch LivePd, Live Rescue and what is probably my favorite The First 48. I also miss the show that used to be on A&E a long time ago about the US Marshalls. Manhunters I think it was called.

Why would I be ashamed to admit I follow true crime? It's sad of course what humans do to other humans. I don't like gory parts but the actual why is fascinating. How they think and what goes on in their mind. Tons of lessons to be learned also. I have been reading Ann Rule since day 1. Right now I am following the Daybells and little Gannon missing in Colorado.

My husband watches that stuff all the time, I would never watch that stuff, too much of a downer.

Wow!
Thanks to to all who responded.
I guess I’ve noticed that the True Crime genre is now becoming
extremely popular, whereas years ago, the only books available
were hidden on a bottom shelf....(all 3 of them!)
TV’s Perry Mason was probably my first favorite along with Ann Rule’s
EARLY books.
Her first dozen+ were thoroughly researched and factual, but read like
exciting long novels.
The later books seemed thin on story and detail, but full of the courtroom
testimony.
I also miss the original Court TV, although it’s available online,
There must be many more murders happening, so why does every
channel repeat the same crime—-but switching out the actors?
Good heavens, just here in America there are gruesome acts committed somewhere everyday!
Between TV, books and podcasts......there is a vast selection.
I prefer TV, which seems to have the most limited story choices.
There are *some* True Crime fans who apparently go “all in”, by
collecting serial killers letters, artwork, etc.
I can’t say I’m that type of fan, lol.
Years ago, when Forensic Files first aired, I thought, “why are they teaching
the crooks how to avoid being caught?”
It would be interesting to know how many killers/thieves learned How To Get Away With Murder..........
........by watching TV!
Theres also several Medical Mystery shows that are really interesting....
occasionally I can come up with a diagnosis!
Most of those shows are old, but the patients and doctors are the same...in that the one is Broken and the other Fixes.
Actually, I was a Nancy Drew Fan first......then Ann Rule .
I did read several M. Phelps true crime, but he has gone the way of
Ann. First books wonderful, then formulaic.
Thanks to all! I’m not *wierd* after all!
........on second thought..........
j/k

Not me, I've had 2 family members as victims of horrible crimes, they survived.
After that experience, I cannot "re-live" that pain through the lives of others.

Not into true crime but I DO actually admit to becoming hooked on the true medical issue shows like Dr. Pimple Popper, My Feet are Killing Me, etc.
Gross, but fascinating and educational.
(Plus it makes me feel less sorry for myself...)
