Watched Soupy everday after school.  Loved Pookie so much that I named my first dog after him.

The first cat my dh and I got back in the late 70's after we got married I named Pookie. He was an orange ginger and looked like a lion. Best name ever!!

Don't remember Soupy, but do remember a woman (Shari?) who had a little puppet named Lambchop.   Anyway, I think that's what it was ....

I’ll have to look him up. I never heard of it. I grew up on Sesame Street.

I actually met Soupy Sales several decades ago on the sidewalks of New York, and told him how much I enjoyed the show.  He was very appreciative and gracious, just a good guy.

@Tinkrbl44 : That is Shari Lewis; this show predates Soupey by 5-10 years.  I remember Shari and Lamb Chop from circa 1952-53.

Count me in with those who spent the afternoons with Soupy and his friends...always thought he had such a happy smile...now it's time to do the Soupy Shuffle....well at 69 maybe not as easy anymore lol.
