Maybe they can say she left to go to college or she joined the rowing team.

Just kidding.

Ha!

They have very easy outs for Lori.

They can have her go and be with her adopted daughter due to some recurrence of her original illness, and then they could have him stay with Clara.

She can run off and be with Pastor Frank (which is my first choice because it was her decision to get rid of his character because she wanted to portray strong independent women on the show).  However, then they wouldn't be able to bring Pastor Frank back and Cody would  most likely have to go with her.

I don't think they want to do another main character death.  I think that's too extreme.  And if they kill her off, then they would need to keep the Abigail's Cafe name in her honor.

I think their best bet is to replace the actress and keep the role.  Twitter is on fire with actress options.

I really like the simplicity of this show and have watched since the beginning.  A shame Jack pulled out of the show.

I am happy to see comments here that they are looking into creative changes.  The new season has just begun.  Also, the new mountie will be part of the show.  Have seen him in Hallmark moveis and he was also a ranch hand on the Heartland series on Up channel.

Hope it continues.  Regardless of anything happening with one star, I do not feel it is fair to other actors on the show to be affected.

Here's a clip from GMA.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IAzPT362gY

Hallmark has pulled the plug on "When Calls The Heart", along with "Garage Sale Mysteries" and Laughlin's Christmas movies.

According to the clip, Hallmark stated, "her work will no longer appear on our air."

I know earlier reports stated  that only this Sunday's episode was pulled, but according to the clip, the whole show was pulled. They haven't said that the show has been cancelled, so maybe they'll replace her in the role or get a new character for the show next year.

This is one of the few shows I've really been interested in seeing through the past years.  But killing off Jack was a "killer" for me. He was a major part of the show - probably more than the writers realized.  This season leaves much to be desired. The cast is just not as interesting as before.  And the storyline just doesn't grab my attention.  Wonder if there could have been a mistake and the mountie who died wasn't really Jack. Could he return?  The story line about the Casino?  Boring, like the new Casino owner.  The new Mountie?  Not sure he can replace Jack, and I don't think that would be good for the story line if they tried it.   As for Lori Loughlin, her character could go away in so many different ways. you don't have to kill her off - just send her away somewhere and have her come back one day looking different. No big deal.

@Perkup .  I thought they killed Jack off because he wanted to leave the show.

I suspect they came to the realization that editing existing footage to get rid of her or reshooting scenes would be too much and so are maybe deciding to redo this entire season without her or, who knows, maybe they're in the process of deciding whether to continue with the show at all. Personally, I'm not a regular viewer and so don't really care, but it does seem unfortunate for those who are and certainly for the rest of the cast and crew that this one actor has created so much angst, jeopardized an entire season, if not the entire show.

Note the words "on air."

Hallmark Movies now is a streaming service.  I wonder if it will eventually show up on there.

Also, Hallmark corrected their message today and they have not and will not cancel WCTH.

They are looking at how to air it.

I'm guessing it has to do with the contracts more than how it looks to show something with her in it.

There are a lot of legal and PR threads to unravel here.

@stevieb  I've never watched When Calls the Heart or Garage Sales Mysteries.

I understand that When Calls the Heart is their top rated show so I can't imagine they'll cancel it, but who knows?

I feel sorry for the actors and crews of those series who are now out of a job.

You're probably right - no idea whose idea leaving the cast was. But I think he was more important to the story line than some realized.  He is missed.
