Did anyone see the season finale of "When Calls the Heart?

If so what did you think?

I thoroughly enjoyed the series and was thinking that Jack was going to ask Elizabeth to marry him and give her the ring but the other fellow beat him to it.  I am not liking the other fellow and do hope in the next season that she turns him down.  I felt so sorry for Jack because it appears that he will hear it all from outside the door.  I hope that he still asks her too.Woman Very Happy

I have loved it since the movie.  I never read the book, though.

My only issue is that this season they were literally dropping in and out of civilization (Hamilton).  Now, granted, they have money and means, but COME ON, nobody is going back and forth on a weekly basis by stage and train across the country like they are going to the Cracker Barrel for breakfast.

People on FB are having a cow because all the women wear their hair down, but I'm not clutching my pearls over that one.

They have an organized fan base now they call the hearties.Daniel Lissing and Erin Krakow both were singing a song that one of the hearties wrote for them on another interview show on hallmark. They both sing beautifully.

My DH complains that they wear their hair in modern styles and wear some more modern clothing but I don't care, I just love the story. It broke my heart that the other guy got to propose before Jack.

I just can't get into this show. I just don't see any chemistry between the two main actors who play Jack and Elizabeth. They come off more like brother and sister. It's one of the only things on TV Saturday night if we don't go out that is. Also, I can't get into the back and forth between where Elizabeth lives and the mansion she lived before she became a teacher. I thought she supposedly moved far from home for an adventure in the beginning of the series. Now it's like her family lives in the next town and she drops by fir a weekend visit.

As for next season, Jack will probably run off before Elizabeth answers Charles. I think she will turn Charles down in hopes that Jack will ask her. I think the whole next season will be all about Elizabeth's family trying to pressure her to marry Charles and that things will heat up with Elizabeth's family including Elizabeth and Jack because Elizabeth's little sister ran off to be with Jack's brother and Jack will be blamed for it.

One thing I have not been able to find out is why James Brolin didn't come back for Season 2.  He was in the cliff hanger of Season 1.  I assume it had to do with the work conflict as Season 2 hadn't been decided yet and took quite a while for them to agree to a second season.

Watching Astonaut Wives reminded me of Army wives and the criticism of that show with people popping in and out of Iraq or Afghanistan.

I know it sounds silly and picky, but while I love this show, I still can't get past the modern clothing and hairstyles and some of the women wear way too much makeup. In the first season the women had a much more natural look, Lori Loughlin wore almost no makeup and looked great.

And, I noticed the dialogue was more modern. In fact, several women used quite a few 2015 words on more than one occasion!

I have to wonder if Hallmark required the changes in order to have a season 2.  I wonder if the ratings weren't as they hoped.

Yes, I noticed that too but I did enjoy the series and am looking forward to Season 3 next year.

I did see the morning show on the same channel that had the actress that plays Elizabeth and the actor that plays Jack on.  They sang with another fellow from a different show and were pretty good.  What I did not know is that he is Australian and has an accent that I did not pick up on in the series.
