@Travone What a kind heart you have....I know I feel sad for John Candy's character also, but this whole movie makes me laugh out loud every time I watch.

@Lucky Dog wrote:Ending of My Dog Skip:
"Skip died" my daddy said. He and my mama wrapped him in my baseball jacket.
"They buried him out under an elm tree " they said.
That wasn't totally true. For he really layed buried in my heart.
Oh my goodness. That's one for me too. I have the movie and the book.
I cry every time. I guess because I have so many of my dogs buried in my heart, too.

@Love my grandkids Oh we are on the same wavelength with How Green Was My Valley. A while ago the young people in our family were reminiscing about their grandfather, my father; humble, quiet, kind, protective, with heart and integrity unmatched.
When they paused in their conversation, I recited the words from the movie that have stayed with me forever. “Men like my father cannot die. They are with me still, real in memory as they were in flesh. Loving and beloved forever. How green was my valley then.”
We all passed the kleenex box. lol

Another vote for The Way We Where. I cry at the end every single time. It's like you can feel the love and the hurt that was once there.

“Men Don’t Leave”. Jessica Lange as a widow who finds her young son after he has run away from their city apartment to their former home. She finds him in the backyard playhouse. He says to her that he only wants to see his dead father “just one more time.” Rips my heart out.

Yes with Old Yeller, Bambi, Disney movies that never should have been made.
Also Lion King-such beautiful music. When we first saw it my young children loved it and wanted to buy the video!I never wanted to see it again! (but I did get it for them). In every disney movie why does someone have to die?1 (in most all, especially the later ones).
Then yes there is Dr Zhivago.
My best friend and I saw this and came out sobbing in the lobby and couldn't stop! I never remember crying so much. Well, that and Old Yeller.
I don't like sad movies anymore. At all!.
Too many already real life sad heatbreaking things. Don't need a movie to add to that anymore so I avoid all that have that sad sad ending. And especially no sad dog movies!
