I thought The Talented Mr. Ripley took Matt Damon's acting to new levels. . .  Did you see it?

@fortune

I did.  Definitely talented.

Still can't muster the enthusiasm that I think I should.  But then I wasn't that fond of Paul Newman -- until I was.  Just clicked one day.

@just bee

Do you remember the movie that brought you over to the Paul Newman fan club?

There were Newman films I liked as far back as the '60s and I always appreciated the chemistry between Newman and Redford.  But then I tend to believe that Newman was the only actor with which Redford had chemistry.

I think what finally sealed the deal was The Verdict.  He should have won an Oscar for that performance.

I just loved what he did in that film.  And how it made me feel -- good or bad.

Haven't seen that film.  I will add it to my list of "must watch films!"

I can't believe it, but every single movie already listed here and many more.

But in the spirit of the season I'll add:   every single xmas movie.  I hate them all.  Not one I'll watch.  Ever.

Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!

Drop whatever you're doing and watch it as soon as you can.  Move it to the top of your list.

Lumet direction and Mamet screenplay.  Great cast, great characters, great music throughout.

I love this film.  It's as good today as it was in 1982.  Just masterful.

Let it go...

I'm so grateful I have no children/grandchildren because I haven't seen any of these Disney films.  It's been years.

My coworkers watch them repeatedly on their phones.

Talk about the end of Western civilization...

LOL let it go is a big reason why I dont like this movie.  Good grief I remember a few years ago Q had the dress that would light up and play that song and Q had that dress on repeatedly.  I did not like the whole story line.  Now I have this song in my head lol.  Thanks Justbee. lol

Oh, no!  Maybe I can help get it out for you.  Here goes.

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl

With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there

She would merengue and do the cha-cha

And while she tried to be a star, Tony always tended bar

Across a crowded floor, they worked from 8 till 4

They were young and they had each other

Who could ask for more?

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana (Copacabana)

The hottest spot north of Havana (here)

At the Copa (CO!), Copacabana

Music and passion were always the fashion

At the Copa....they fell in love

Copa Copacabana...

Well, since it's the season, I'll say It's A Wonderful Life.  It's the hokiest movie ever.  And because of Jimmy Stewart's notorious role, I can't watch him in any other movie.
