I refuse to watch it now, just like Psycho, I refuse to watch it too.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974).  I had nightmares after I saw the movie.  For a few years I also couldn't hear a chainsaw without flinching.

When I was a kid in the theatre--Jaws.

Poltergeist was scary at the time.

I don't usually watch scary or gory movies...anymore.

The Creature of the Black Lagoon scared me to death. I was a child and saw it at a drive-in theater with my parents. I ducked behind the seats. To this day I do not watch anything suspenseful.

I helped host Linda Blair one weekend at an event. I thought I should watch The Exorcist after having spent time with her. I was not frightened probably because the movie had been seen by so many, and I knew what to expect. I think knowing what a delightful person she is made the movie less frightening.
