My favorite movie, which is sad, romantic, wonderful, scary, thought-provoking, historic, and has terrific acting is Dr. Zhivago.

Watching this movie gives one a bit of insight into the Russian way of thinking, even though the movie is many decades old.

Old Yeller. I saw it when I was a little girl and to this day I wish I'd never seen it.  And any other film where a dog dies (Marley &Me, Turner &Hooch, etc. But Yeller was the worst of the worst).

@Marceil . Rachmaninff's music very intense.   Really sets the mood for this movie. Trevor Howard was great too.
