That song which was first recorded by Cher and went NOWHERE. Cher said she knew her career was over when she realized Karen Carpenter had a big hit. Tried to find a copy of the Cher one. I think there was one 45 for sale. This was a few years ago.

For some reason The Carpenters music reminds me of that war that was going on at that time they were popular.  I was in highschool when this song came out on the radio. My guy friends were being drafted and sent off to war. Sad times.

@AuntGI agree about the eating disorder...the songs I remember the most are We've Only Just Begun and Rainy Days And Mondays. There Christmas songs were also beautiful..They were big during the Viet Nam war...along with Janice Ian and Carole King...
