I recently read an article that horror films are more prolific lately because they are cheaper to make and do relatively well at the box office. Go figure.

A friend recently told me he's looking at some fabulously expensive flat screen gibungous TeeVee...

I listened politely while thinking to myself....:

Buying an expensive TV is like buying a gold plated garbage can.

The content is exactly the same, so why pay more?

Part of the attraction for horror movies and the garbage super hero movies is:

There's virtually no dialog or plot, and the dopey special effects and loud booming bang bang bang "music" soundtrack requires NO translation for overseas audiences.

Garbage is garbage in all countries.

It's not a horror movie. It has a pretty decent cast including Elizabeth Banks, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Kerry Washington, and Ray Liotta.

My husband and I had a similar discussion the other day. You know how we have favorite old movies, the kids of today, do they go to the movies? What do they see, beyone Star Wars, and Jurassic Park, I have no idea.

There’s plenty of good content available if you take the time to look for it. Much of it is on streaming services, which, like it or not, is the current and future of movies and series.

You also have to remember that some of the movies released at this time of year are looking to get an Oscar nomination - whether is best picture, actor, or actress.
