Welcome to Plathville, is anyone still watching?

I came across this while looking for something to watch.  Wow the dynamic is totally different.  Mom has left the home to live in one of their rentals.  She is being kind of weird.  She left the house and kids.  Really weird thing is that the kids do not seem to miss her.  They are very close to their dad.  It is very sweet when you see them all in the kitchen talking to him.  I don't think Kim told them she was leaving.  She built a dance studio and is teaching, Kids seem to be team Dad.  What are your thoughts on this show?

Re: Welcome to Plathville, is anyone still watching?

I've watched every season of the show and it certainly is different now. I don't like how Kim is acting but then again I never have. I wonder if her dance studio will be successful or not? I can understand being tired of her husband but don't like that she's left her kids. I can't help but wondering if she isn't doing this because she doesn't like that things didn't go her way with the older ones.

I'm not a fan of Ethan's wife Olivia. There is just something about her that I just can't stand. She seems too controlling and is rarely happy about anything. So what if Ethan wants to work on cars. He could be interested in far worse. I'm surprised their relationship has lasted as long as it has and wonder if it will last long term.

The Micah living with all these guys storyline is kind of silly to me but I'm glad he's found success in his modeling career. I think Moriah's a mess. I saw a pic of her online on top of a mountain. She had a bunch more tattoos and even wilder hair. It was crazy. She looked crazy in the pic. I guess I don't like the show as much as I initially did but yet I watch.

I agree about Olivia, she totally disrespected his family, he really misses his family.  It seems her main goal was to change him and argue with his family.  I agree with you about Olivia.   Moriah seems so disturbed.  I am wondering if she eats at all.

Yeah Moriah was even thinner in the pic I saw of her which is very disturbing. I don't trust Kim whatever she's up to. Moriah needs to realize those revealing clothes need to go.

Moriah got serious with Max way too fast.
She seems to be lost. I never see her with any female friends besides Olivia.

I don't think Ethan was ready for marriage.

Does TLC make it a requirement that in order to apply for a show you need to be a large, dysfunctional family?

I guess it's more interesting than the usual family dynamics.

@sunshine 919   It is not so unusual for a woman her age to go through this kind of change after raising a family for years... my own Mother did the same thing in her 40's. She left our family to go and experince life her way. Not easy on the children especially the young children. I hope that they get the children therapy so it does not affect them like it did me for the rest of their lives.

Re: Welcome to Plathville, is anyone still watching?

This show has become more and more scripted .

The mother goes from being a Saint, to now liking Rap music, as she claims.

Ethan I think was ready for marriage, but to a "hometown girl", you know,  one who is home, baking, raising the kids and loving her husband.

She just gets more and more demanding in his wants and needs.

She had to go to a bigger town for her career, so she gets her way and they move to Tampa, now it seems she isn't happy there either.

Ethan, likes working on old cars, it makes him happy and keeps him busy.

So now she is going to fly off again to find her happiness...

He's a country boy, she knew that, she's a country girl, trying to be some city slicker and its not what she will ever be.

The skinny sister with Max, she issuch a joke,  I'm surprised he even waited around for her. She dresses like a hoe and even told him, too bad, she wasn't6 changing for anyone... so, let her go on ger merry way then..

As for the wannabe male model. Does he really know what he wants to do with his life? Seems like its party time for him...

The mother and father, totally fake.

I did like it when the daughter told her, "since you aren't happy here, maybe you should leave"...kudos to you kid, but then mom had to put a spin to the story making the kid feel bad.

I now think the story is a bore, same as last year only with mom & dad now in the picture,

Another TLC story waste of monies....
