I am so sorry that you lost all your recorded shows.  When we had AT&T Uverse (when they were just getting started many years ago), we had a lot of trouble with the receivers working for a short time and then went out.  We had to keep calling them and each time they brought us a new one.  We went through 5 of them and of course lost all recorded shows each time.  We got so fed up we cancelled Uverse and went with Dish.  We got tired of problems and price increases we went with Direct about 12 yrs. ago.  With technology today there is no reason why all these companies can't develop a back up system that you can remove from the old receiver and install in the new one rather than lose all the recorded shows.

I would hate to lose my recorded shows.About 1 month ago we had strong winds.My very old DVR barely works now.

Next week we are getting Dish 2 Hoppers installed.I will lose some shows.

I can still watch them with Dish on demand.

Usually I watch my favorite shows the same day or the next.
