Watching the very old film of Les Miserables

I know I probably spelled that wrong, but you can recognize it.  Frederick March stars in it.  It's on FXM. Retro.

This was such a great story.

Very well made version of the novel,  cleaned up a bit of course for the 1935 audience.

March's wife, Florence Eldridge, plays Fantine.

Nominated for 4 Oscars:

Outstanding Production (Best Film)

Cinematography

Editing

Assistant Director (eliminated category)

Yeah, a good portrayal. The original novel by Victor Hugo is a must read.
