Watched the first 2 episodes of Beverly Hillbillies

I watched the first and second episode of Beverly Hillbillies.

And in Episode 2 who should appear on the screen? Robert Osborne.

He was an employee of Milburn Drysdale's bank.

Unrelated to some degree, but I recently watched an old episode of Password (with host Allen Ludden) where Irene Ryan and Donna Douglas were the celebrity contestants.  Password isn't Jeopardy, but both ladies did a fine job giving clues and with their guesses when the partner gave the clues.  Ms. Ryan cleaned up dramatically from being Granny to a sophisticated-looking lady.  Well-groomed and stylish is the best description. Douglas looked sophisticated too and per usual, for an afternoon game show in the-1960s, both women were wearing suits.  I was humored that Ms. Douglas's real voice had a heavy southern accent that she amped up even more for the role of Elly May.

My brother loves this show.  The man is a senior-level financial executive, but his all-time favorite TV show is the Beverly Hillbillies. The point being, no matter how silly a show may seem to some if you like it own it. That said he has company in being a fan,  The Beverly Hillbillies was a major hit and has sustained over 50 years in reruns around the world.

My husband felt the same way.  He never got a chance to watch the show when it originally aired because he was too busy working.  When he finally "made it" and had time to relax once in a while, he loved watching the reruns.

His favorite character was Granny and any episode that involved the "see-ment" pond.
