I am very inspired by Judge Judy's attitude.

So am I. She's a good example how NOT to treat other people.

Re: Watched an older interview with Judge Judy last night on TV

The JJ we see being interviewed is a very different JJ than the TV program.  Let's face it, she's probably seen it all and can just "read" a person to decide whether they are telling the truth or not.

"You know when a teenager is lying?  When their lips are moving."

"Don't make up a story as you go along.  If you tell the truth you don't have to have a good memory."

"If it doesn't make any sense, then it isn't true."

I have to agree with her probably 97% of the time, but there have been a few cases where I thought she was incorrect.  I like her a lot and I find her very entertaining.

Judge DeMango is the same way on Hot Bench and Judge Corriero (but he keeps it to himself), they have been on the bench a very long time and Corriero did family court/juvenile cases.  DeMango did NY criminal court.

She is tough and takes no "Karp"  from anyone.  I would not want to be standing in front of her on trial.  Interesting that as tough a lady as she is....she admits that she likes having a man in her life....and always has.

Family Court is probably the 5th Circle of he11.  She spent 20-25 years there?

She was a prosecuter in NYC family court and then a criminal court judge then the supervising judge for family court.

Wikipedia says she's presided over more than 20,000 cases.  So she's seen a lot.

I love Judge Judy and I enjoy when she makes Bird laugh. He is an interesting fella too. Saw a great interview with him on morning news a few years back and understood why Judy chose him as her "partner" in crime-busting. She is rocking that ponytail too!

I love when she calls people on the phone to verify a story.

@VaBelle35   I love it even more when the person at the other end is always there waiting for the phone to ring.  LOL  She never has to ask for anyone.  They always answer the phone.....  Could be that they are notified in advance that Judy is gonna call them.....  Hmmm, maybe so.

Re: Watched an older interview with Judge Judy last night on TV

Many years ago I met a person who played a courtroom observer on Judge Judy.  It was interesting to hear how the show is directed.  Little is left to spontaneity, and everybody follows the script.  If someone goes off-script, that part of the segment is reshot.

These days I tend to think it's because it's a cell phone, but I also think they edit it out.  Recently when she was on the phone, the guy she called wasn't the right guy and he gave her the right number, but they didn't show that.  When she came back, she yelled at the defendant that he gave her the wrong person but she got the right person anyway.
