Vincent Van Gogh/Willem Dafoe

i just returned from the Julius Schnabel treatment of Van Gogh's last few years, "At Eternity's Gate."  obviously the subject matter is serious dealing with his inner pain and issues with mental health. but the backdrop of the French countryside brought to life beautifully through the cinematography and the passionate performance of Willem Dafoe make this a movie to remember. Dafoe became Van Gogh for me.  fabulous performance. 

 

 i'd like to see again - once i recover from its impact.
