Video Descriptions On HGTV

Has anyone else noticed the descriptive narration of what's on the screen for visually impaired folks on shows on HGTV like House Hunters & House Hunters International lately?  I can appreciate them being inclusive for those that are visually impaired, but this narration is louder than the rest of the program & seems intrusive.  I wish there was a way to turn it off & on, like with closed captioning, but I haven't found one.

Video description is audio-narrated descriptions of a television program's key visual elements. These descriptions are inserted into natural pauses in the program's dialogue. Video description makes television programming more accessible to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
