@violann   I read the book Flowers for Algernon, prior to watching the movie Charly which was based on the book.  I must say the "movie" did a good job following the "book" story.

"Love With the Proper Stranger" - 1963 starring Natalie Wood and Steve McQueen.  Natalie is pregnant by a man she hardly knows.  Then she meets Steve McQueen.  Excellent love story set in Manhattan.

An eighties movie "Electric Dreams" is a love triangle involving a man, woman and sentient computer. The movie stars Virginia Madsen and Lenny Van Dohlen. It's not well known, and might sound strange, but has a very good musical score and is entertaining. The movie is ahead of its time with the computer.
