Does anyone else watch this show?  I have never watched wrestling.  It seems so fake to me, doesn't interest me.

I don't even know how I started watching this show (it's only been about 2 or 3 months).

I just like watching 'the twins'.

My late husband and I used to watch boxing together.  He liked to box (had his own gloves).  He used to invite his friends over and they'd really box.

He boxed when he was in the Army.  Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else watches this show?

It's about the Bella twins and not much about boxing.

Wrestling is fake and labeled entertainment.  My uncle started me with wrestling when I was a young girl.  I have enjoyed it since as an older adult.  The story lines do get repetitive and some tiresome, wrestlers come and go but it does entertain me.

There also is a show about the women wrestlers and their lives which is probably similar to the Bellas show.  In fact the Bella's were among the diva's as they were called, who appeared on the series.

My father was a big boxing fan and watched it often on TV back in the fifties.

I just saw the advertisement on channel E.  They are coming back for 2019 very soon.

It is obvious to me it's really scripted.  I just like watching these lovely ladies.

I don't watch wrestling.  My late husband and I used to watch boxing.  He was a boxer when he was very young (Jr Golden Gloves).

Anyone else looking forward to seeing the Bellas.

OMG!  Wrestling is fake?  Of course it is.  This show is all about it being fake....(i.e. story lines, etc).

The reason I bring the show up again is because the other night I was watching it.

The family was celebrating the Bellas' new line of clothing.  The twin's brother and his wife just had a sweet new baby.

This young woman (who'd given birth ..... and was still nursing) was drinking to celebrate.

I know (supposedly) some people say it's OK to drink small amounts of wine while nursing.  So I went on the internet to see what's being 'put out there' now.

I went directly to the Mayo Clinic (https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/infant-and-toddler-health/expert-answers/breast-feeding...).

For those who don't like going to other websites, this is a few sentences from the article:

Breast-feeding and alcohol don't mix well. There's no level of alcohol in breast milk that's considered safe for a baby to drink.

When you drink alcohol, it passes into your breast milk at concentrations similar to those found in your bloodstream. Although a breast-fed baby is exposed to just a fraction of the alcohol his or her mother drinks, a newborn eliminates alcohol from his or her body at only half the rate of an adult.

Research suggests that breast-fed babies who are exposed to one drink a day might have impaired motor development and that alcohol can cause changes in sleep patterns. Also, while folklore says that drinking alcohol improves milk production, studies show that alcohol actually decreases milk production and that the presence of alcohol in breast milk causes babies to drink about 20 percent less breast milk.

There's a lot more, but it's too long to post here.  When my daughers were breast feeding they wouldn't even consume anything that had caffein in it.

Now, I assume because there are a few places here and there where it's supposed to be OK to drink 'a little' some women are drinking and breast feeding.

I never breast fed my girls for medical reasons.  But I'm curious, what are your feelings about this?

I know many/most of you probably don't watch this show.

But my question has nothing to do with the show.  I'm curious if you've seen or you drank wine (or any alcoholic beverage) while breast feeding?  If so, did you read something that said it was OK to do this or did you just feel it would be OK?

My youngest sister was born in 1960. I remember my Mother sitting on the living room sofa with a martini in her hand breastfeeding my sis.

I have watched it, and it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I don't think either of the twins is wrestling any longer, but they keep talking about expanding their brand. And yes, a lot of wrestling is choreographed and contrived drama. They are probably athletes, possibly gymnasts, but I don't see them as real wrestlers. It's kind of street theater, if you ask me, and so is the men's wrestling.

Re: Total Bellas

[ Edited ]

@Annabellethecat66

I've watched the Bellas and it can be enjoyable.

I am more of a fan of the more "sensible" twin and her husband, who seems to do his best keep her grounded.

I haven't watched for quite a while, but I do hope the new mom limited her drink to that one and no more while she is nursing.  No doubt, they will get a lot of comments and advice about it, and I hope she listens.

It doesn't matter if wrestling is fake.  It's been like that always.  However, the injuries are real.  And the Bellas show has little actual wresting in it.  If it had more, I doubt I'd be watching.

Dwayne Johnson is bringing a new film out (Fighting With My Family) about one of the women wrestlers from England, Paige.  I'll watch it when it eventually comes out on DVD.

[was Homegirl] Love to be home . . . thus the screen name. Joined 2003.
