Re: There is only one ""Odd Couple"" Randall and Klugman

I just had this vision of the TV show "Supernatural". OK, so they had an episode where Cupid (the human look alike version) went bonkers and was putting all of these 'different' people in love. They had to straighten him/it out.

Sues, your post along with brew's post made me think of that (talking about odd couples in real life). How about Kenny Chesney and Rene Zewelleger (were they married for 2 minutes)? That was weird.

I think some of these actors and actresses (and singers) have major issues about everything. Maybe that's what pushes them to achieve.

If you think about what odds are against them to become really famous.....it's rather amazing. Maybe that's the difference.

Let's add Sandra Bullock and Jesse James to the odd couple list.

Re: There is only one ""Odd Couple"" Randall and Klugman

Well I was not thinking these kinds of odd couple I was referring to Neil Simon Broadway play, and than movie, and as a TV sitcom....

Now those mention maybe odd couples, but has nothing to do with the work of Neil Simon...

It must have been hilarious when many here was in school, but than again many things taught in the 1980's-90's on... was all relative in PC keeping...{#emotions_dlg.lol}

I remember Randall and Krugman as,the odd couple. I have lived a long time., before TV. Just radio. The Shadow, Lone Ranger, Inner Sanctum, very scary back then. My goodness what did we do without TV? We played outside a lot and board games with the family.

Re: There is only one ""Odd Couple"" Randall and Klugman

qvc. I'm 68 years old. I'm a youngster to you. Ha! My late husband and I often talked about watching the Lone Ranger on TV, Howdy Doodie (my daughter called me the other day and said, "Mommie, my girls and I are watching Howdy Doodie, I know you and Daddy loved that show". I said, "How about Clarabelle the Clown? Isn't he weird"?

One year I bought my late husband all of the 8 track tapes of The Lone Ranger, the Shadow, the 3 Stooges and so on. He'd put them in his truck and every time I rode with him I had to sit and listen to them.

I was raised in Alexandria, Va, (people who weren't (Yuppies) call it "Old Town". We are all so crazy about where we all lived if you just google..."you know you're from Alexandria if" and you won't believe all that will pop up.

But I get off the subject. We all talk about how we played outside until 9 and 10 at night on warm summer nights. You didn't worry about kids getting stolen or hurt (maybe skin their knee). How did we lose our Country's innocence.

Annabellethecat: Only old in number. I work out 2 t0 3 hours a day. You are right though, you are a youngster. I would give anything to be 68, was starting college and graduated at 72 with a scholarship and gave grad. speech.

Your never to old to do anything if you want. See the 77 on TV that lifts those heavy weights twice her weight?

We lost our innocent when computers and texting and twitching and tweaking and twitter and you name it. lol.

Seriously, those were the safe days for the most part. My kids went to Kindergarten by themselves walking. Now when I am walking near the high school, all the parents cars lined up to take them home.

I grew up in San Francisco and walked from Bay and Francisco to outer Mission home. Took three buses in morning, but wanted to be with my boyfriend and he and I lived in outer Mission, we were only fifteen and couldn't date. CAN'T DO THAT TODAY, YOU WOULD NEVER MAKE IT HOME SAFE. Can you imagine not dating at fifteen today?

I have a half sister who is only 46 and she can't do half of what I do according to her. She came for a visit and I kept up with her and her partner. They could not believe it. That comes from 55 years of exercising and running 8 miles a day. No more running, but do walk five miles a day. Weight train one hour, Pilates, yoga and 1/2 hour Zumba. Different days, different exercise.The secret to a long and healthy old age. I also have two big yards and house to take care of by myself, husband dead, but he didn't do anything. He was third husband, they all died. I wore them out. I bet you are fit too.

We can never compare the originals to the new version. I thought the show was funny and had lots of potential. The characters seem to mesh well together.

I thought it would be awful, but it was a lot funnier than expected ... and the lead characters really play well off each other!! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

You can't compare them to Randall and Klugman, but that doesn't mean it won't be a successful show. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}
