Yes, there is a daughter. She was born with a mental problem (don't understand it). I saw several shows (including the 20/20 one, Nightline, etc. I also read several articles on line.
One of the sons has some problems dealing with other people (that's why you mostly see the 4 brothers). Several psychiatrists have said that....one they are amazingly well adjusted....however, they wonder what the impact would eventually be as they more and more have to associate with other people (they've been 'protected' more than the show shows. They mentioned that they've had very little (if any) experience dealing with females and wonder how well they'll do since (supposedly) they've seen so many movies where females are treated as objects.
I didn't get that at all. I saw where they also saw movies like "Singing in the Rain", etc. I have to wonder if the the so called Professionals aren't looking for something that might not be there just to commdent.
The major thing that immediately bothered me was the way the photographer kept these young men to herself. The other part of my brain said, "Well maybe that helped ease them into dealing with society". However, (again) the other side said, "It wasn't her decision to make. Perhaps she had good intentions, I guess I'd like to think so.....I think she was all about getting the story.
It almost seems unreal that this woman would see them walking by and follow them and develop a relationship with them.
One of the twin boys is the only one of the boys who has a relationship with the Father (that's what was said.
Makes you wonder just who are all of these people behind the doors of these apartments.
Java, you and I (and other's our ages) know that something like this probably would not have happened in the old days. People knew their neighbors. They all helped each other. Not anymore.
Even where I live. I don't know my newer neighbors. They're 1 acre lots on a street (all dead end). People walk in the evening but during the day many are at work (it is so quiet it's surreal).

Yes, they had more than one flat screen TV's. The father stayed in his own room watching his own TV.
I don't understand how they were able to purchase all of the materials they got so they could make those elaborate costumes. They all had rather nice looking black suits (she said she saw them dressed like that, that's what called attention to themselves).
Can you imagine how scary it must have been to have this kid come into the store with the Michael Myers face mask on? I'd have called the cops immediately. They made it sound like it took awhile before the police were notified.

actually there are SIX brothers (one daughter)......they mostly showed FIVE though during the 20/20 show.
this was simply fascinating. i am hoping some movie studios or people in production see this and maybe help them get jobs in the movie or tv industry. how much fun they would have i bet. i had tears in my eyes several times last night. i cannot wait tosee the entire documentary.

Does anyone know what the current situation is with the daughter(s) and are the parents now divorced, or still living in that tiny apartment? I am amazed that these sorts of things go on in the world.
Tiny? It was a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, living room, dining room & full kitchen apt. In my neck of the woods, that's called a ranch house!!!!

i thought that they said their apartment was 1000 square feet? that is not a big apartment for 9 people.

I found that interesting too. I think it was that small it just had tiny rooms in it. I believe that's how it was. if you go over to the website you can get an idea on how small the rooms were.
Good grief. I can't believe they had no privacy. that's what would drive me crazy! And they NEVER could use one of the bathrooms.

I was just thinking of something funny. if that was a wolf pack (is there such a thing)? of females in that tiny apartment, speaking as a proud (but realistic) female I can say without a doubt we'd have killed each other in that tiny place.
Can you imagine all females and that time of the month? Just sayin' PMS in full swing X's 5! Good grief! Then add the curling irons, etc.
i'm sorry, I guess it's not funny, but to me it would be different if it were females! I love to think of that. I think if there was a way (not tied up, etc. a female would have gotten away.
look at that young woman who escaped that man!
