This movie was shown on FX today.  I'd heard of this film and was interested to see what it was about.  What a really strange film.  Did anyone else see it?

It did hold my interest all the way thru, but it was pretty bizarre.  Not at all as I had imagined.  Worth watching.  I'm sure FX will be repeating it over n over. 

Love story between a young mute girl and a creature from a dark lagoon.  Strange to say the least.

@jellyBEAN I hated it.  I really liked the trailer and was looking forward to seeing it, but it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

This film won the Academy Award for best picture in 2018!!!! I thought it was bizarre!!!

I saw it when it was on HBO for free.  Didn't expect to like it but I did.  Combination sci-fi and fantasy.  Definitely different but IMO well done.

It's a Guillermo del Toro film so you can expect it to be different. I enjoyed it very much.

ETA - I saw it on my big 4K TV and it was really good! Loved the special effects.

Not only did I personally find the whole idea to be a bit stupid, I thought it was boring. I just don't care for science fiction.

I didn't see it in the theater and once I did watch it at home, I was sorry that I didn't see it on the big screen.  I realy enjoyed it

So I watched it for the first time yesterday.....acting sub par....usual violence that movies today must need....story line ridiculous...especially the idea of her having " relations" with this sea creature 😂.  Surprised that they did not have her get pregnant and give birth to sea creatures.    The sea creature outfit reminded me of a bad 1950's movie.

I thought the whole thing was terrible...how it got  anyawards is the question?
