The Rachel Ray show Observations

I have a hard time watching her cook. She wipes her nose with her hands, touches her face....and then is mixing food up with her hands( she says they are the best utensil...)

Her  hair is a mess, all in her face while she cooks as well.  She should pull it back.  She also never washes off her hands going from Raw meat to vegetable.....yes, I know this is just a TV show, but, I feel that hygiene is very important if she is teaching people to cook.

I can can not see how she is so popular. I think she is just a mess.

She's gotten too loud and hyper for me, though I liked her in the early days at Food Network.   Further, why would a chef put his/her name on a line of dog food?  I know it's "delish," but why would a self-respecting chef or cook do that.

I can't get past the screaming. TV is full of screaming, shouting, women now.  I can't watch it.

Did you ever watch Emeril Live oh wow!!! I even think he rubs his nose while does his QVC presentations also. Also Wolfgang too. Wolfgang licks his fingers then starts cooking food on HSN. Paula Deen same things when she had her show.

But in all these chef's defense, none of them are preparng food for people to eat at that time, so far as I know.  They are there to teach cooking - not personal hygiene.  Let's quit picking and enjoy what they can teach us. I like them all, and don't sit and watch closely enough to be offended.

Re: The Rachel Ray show Observations

I had not noticed all of those things, but I don't watch that often.  I did see the show yesterday and there was a chef cooking with her who had tatoos not just all over his arms but also on his fingers.  Just looked dirty and I would never eat anything that he cooked (I have no idea who he was).  I am surprised that people would want him to cook on their shows.  I guess I am showing my age and I have no problem with tats in general, but all over your hands and fingers just makes him look unclean.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

She is a little hard to watch.

But I have to say a few weeks ago she made a lemon spaghetti with arugula. I have made it twice now. My husband goes crazy for it.  Pretty easy to make as well.

I sort of see what you're saying, but I know Rachael Ray is a big dog lover, so I have no problem with her endorsing a line of dog food.  I know that she gives a percentage of sales of the dog food to pet friendly organizations, and, since I'm an animal lover, I admire that.

I do think Rachael has changed over the years.  Originally, she seemed very innocent and totally amazed at her celebrity.  Now, not so much.  But is that really surprising?  I guess she has become accustomed to her fame.  I still like her.  I like her recipes and I think her heart's in the right place.

IMO, she was fun to watch, but since she's been married, she's changed - could be the fame, but also could be his influence on her - he sort of thinks he's the Cat's Meow (pardon the pun!).  They don't carry her show in the Boston area any longer.
