Does anyone remember this? It was back in the 50's or 60's and it was a movie that was shown on a local television channel; not ABC, NBC, or CBS.

It came on usually on a Sunday, possbily the afternoon; they probably showed it when they thought everyone was back from church or whatever house of worship you frequented.

Then it would be shown several times during that week; and then on the next Sunday a new movie came on and I think you get the idea.

There's one movie that I still remember, probably a horror picture that involved  a wild boar running loose around what was supposed to be an unihabited island. In this movie, as with many others of that era, the hugeness and ferocity were attributed to...you know that's coming, don't you?...

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I've wracked my brain but I can't remember the title. TIA to anyone who can help me with this.

Re: The Million Dollar Movie

Not the wild boar movie you are trying to identify but I definitely remember Million Dollar Movie and almost always watched it as a kid.  As I recall, my first introduction to Fred and Ginger (Top Hat, I think).  Sometimes they would be a little scary for me and my mother would drag me away from the set.

This might be a remake of an older movie since it was released in 2017. Can't find anything   back in the 50s or 60s.

Boar is a 2017 Australian horror film written and directed by Chris Sun about a young family that find themselves in the Australian countryside, being hunted by a bloodthirsty wild boar.

@twinsister   i know right!   those movies were the best!  and sometimes my Mom found old movies on TV in the afternoon.  she would have a pile of ironing to do while we watched and folded laundry. we had a black&white TV way back then too. guess thats why i don't mind B&W movies...(i grew up on LI)

I do remember the Million Dollar Movie. It was on WOR Channel 9 NY. I remember the promos for it it. I think it was a shot of the NY skyline. Anyway, that's where I got my fill of Godzilla movies. 😂

Yes I remember Million Dollar Movie.  I am 70 and grew up. in Queens.  Many of the movies were in black & white.  We'd watch horror and sci-fi movies.  That was a long time ago.

Re: The Million Dollar Movie

My sister and I  loved Million Dollar Movie and the fact that it repeated the movie for days.  We watched so many movies over and over.  We loved Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Christmas Carol, Yankee Doodle Dandy, and so many more and never tired of them. Great entertainment for all but as two young girls, we were thrilled!!!!!.
