The Masked Singer - Fall 2024 SPOILERS

[ Edited ]

I always enjoy this program, seeing all the costumes and trying to figure out who is under the mask. I get to learn about people, many I never heard of before, and it is always interesting.

Last year I understood Nicole Scherzinger was gone as a judge because of performances she has/had in London. Thought it was just one year, with Rita Ora sitting in for her last year. But Rita returned this year because Nicole is still involved in another production. Any news that Nicole might be coming back at some point in the future?

I am not a fan of Ken as a judge and mute him when he is talking. I find him annoying. I would like to see him replaced instead of Nicole. I feel the same about him on other shows and commercials.

I tolerate Jenny McCarthy's continuous "who is it?" and fake facial expressions, along with clothing on her that I am not a fan of, because many times her assumptions and thought process on guessing who the masked singer is, is quite good.

As to Robin Thicke, I like him the best as he doesn't get dramatic for the most part and he gives really good reasoning for his guesses. And he has been able to use his great singing voice in some of the opening segments of the show over the years.

Quite a surprise to see John Elway, pro football Hall of Fame inductee and Super Bowl legend as a contestant. Obviously he doesn't have a great singing voice (he was the first one to be unmasked), but it's nice to see some really big celebrities on the show every season.

Anyone else watching (and enjoying!) this year's show?

I stopped watching a few seasons ago. If they got rid of Ken I would watch again. I liked Nicole as a judge.

@colleena   Although I am not a fan of Nick, I do have to admire that he has the energy to host the show and a huge knowledge of celebrities in all walks of life.

I sometimes wonder, though, since he is an executive producer (or something like that) if he knows ahead of time WHO is under all the masks. There are times when he will say that he has figured out who is under the mask, so perhaps he doesn't know everyone.

But when the mask is taken off, he has never had that "I don't know who the heck this is!" look on his face. Perhaps they are feeding him the name and their accomplishments  in an earpiece as the mask is taken off so the celebrity won't be embarrassed if people don't know who they are. I mean, can he possibly know that much about so many celebrities without having the info relayed to him?

I am aware that he is known everywhere in the business, and I would not be surprised if he wasn't responsible for some of the contestants being on the show. Or at the very least, he may make a list of people to the producers of ones he thinks would be good to have on the show.

@World Traveler  Excellent points about Nick as I wasn't aware he executive produced or otherwise was involved that way.  & now that you mention it he doesn't seem surprised in most instances when the mask comes off.

I don't know why but I just don't like the man; it could be that he keeps fathering children with as many women as possible.

Re: The Masked Singer - Fall 2024 SPOILERS

I have watched this show from the beginning.  I love the costumes the best.  The first show, I didn't think the costumes were very good at all, with the exception of the ship.  And this singer and the song she sang were wonderful.  I didn't like the changes that they made last season.  I think it's better to just have the contestants sing whatever they want and not have a partiular theme.  Also, I guess Nicole left to do other things and I thought she was supposed to return.  I thought she added a lot to the show and she meshed better with the other judges than Rita Ora.  Nothing personal against her.  She's very cute and talented.

@AngelPuppy1   I agree that they should be able to sing what they want to sing. Starting to be like Dancing with the Stars where they have theme nights.

Really have to hand it to the costume department on The Masked Singer. They do get creative!

I like the Men in Black, who are quite good with the "moves." Well, I guess the dancers are good too! The whole cast/crew are awesome in how they support the singer.

Re: The Masked Singer - Fall 2024 SPOILERs

Anyone still watching this show? I really like it. Must say the production and costumes are really good. Lots of energy.

Last night Andy Richter was unmasked as the Dust Bunny. All the other singers for that show were really, really good, in my opinion. Seems this year's contestants are very good.

@World Traveler  Really like costumes, singers, production pieces; very well done.  And, no idea it was Andy Ricter as Dust Bunny.
