Can anyone recommend book on lives of Carolyn/JFK Jr? I looked at Amazon and there are quite a few not sure which one to read - any recommendations gladly received. Thank you.

The typical kennedy travesty. How do you feel sorry for a family that brought on their own curse. John jr. Was an entitled brat, i do feel sorry for the bessettes though, they lost both their daughters as a result of yet again, another entitled kennedy.
Probably a lot of truth to that assessment but still a sad end to the story... One also reads that his wife was hardly the fairy princess she was often made out to be, but could be a real piece of work... I guess none of us will ever know...

It's easy to speak ill (or write such books) of the dead when they aren't here to tell otherwise.

Let them rest in peace.

Only those who knew them personally and well know whether the things we've "read" or "heard" are true.
I agree with @countrylady...let them rest in peace.
I doubt any of them did anything to personally harm anyone here.

I watched the 20/20 presentation last night. It brought back memories. I think Jackie brought up her children very well. It was such a tragic ending for both John Jr. and Carolyn and her sister Lauren. Rest in Peace all of them!

I'm not sure why the OP is in the TV and Movies forum, so I'll comment about the TV show with this same title that was on last night. I'm sure it was a repeat because I've seen it on TV before.
John should never have flown as it was getting dark ( he started out late, around 8:40 p.m. as it was getting dark) because he was not licensed to fly on instruments, just when there was visibility. Which there wasn't, even though the tower was telling pilots it would be clear. I can only imagine the horror the three experienced as the plane plunged into the sea, falling out of the sky rapidly.
This is a very good documentary TV program and although I'd seen it before, I wasn't at all bored watching it again. It's hard to believe the accident occurred 20 years ago. I wonder whether the couple would still have been married today? (I doubt it).

The death of John is one of those moments in time where time stopped for a moment...like the deaths of princess Di....his Father.... and Michael Jackson...
some people when when they pass..... just suck the air right out of the room. They have a charismatic energy that few people have.
I never followed him when he was alive persay....... I remember cute little John John....I knew he had a magazine as an adult...and that he was good looking....I imagined he would run for office some day.

By the way, speaking of "entitled," according to the TV show, John was flunking out of Brown University more than once, but Jackie intervened and Brown kept John enrolled and he graduated from there. Then went on to law school and later flunked the bar exam twice.
