Is anyone watching?

It's on PBS.

Kind of like Top Chef but with home cooks from different nationalities

One of the judges was a Top Chef winner and another was a contestant.

I found it by accident and it's enjoyable.

Re: The Great American Recipe

I love this cooking show.

However the public stations were jumbling around with when the show would be on.   On pbs station would air the program one week, another week another pbs station would air the cooking show.  Same with the time

slot.

Also Crime Scene Kitchen is fun too.

It's over now - the final week was last week but I will try to remember to post a reminder

Re: The Great American Recipe

Here in Phx the show is on Friday evenings on PBS.  We still have the finale to see this Friday so thank you for not revealing the winner!!

I absolutely love that show and I have enjoyed getting to know the excellent contestants and judges each week.

Re: The Great American Recipe

I liked it but wanted to see more varied cooking skills....

To keep cooking the same type recipe one after another

segment by several of the last standing competitors i didn't care for............they should have had more specific

challenges each segment so that each contestant could be compared with the others.........but it just seemed more of a

matter of taste as to who shined.

Re: The Great American Recipe

What a disappointment.......i felt during all the episodes

the two chefs of whom neither won the show were the two chefs who actually brought the best and most difficult recipes to the table.  The winner to me was doing some cooking but mainly just did much simpler meals with

sliced/diced ingredients and repetitous meal choices......

Re: The Great American Recipe

I knew several episodes before the finale that the person who won was going to.  She was definitely favored by the judges throughout the entire competition.  Some of the contestants couldn't catch a break from the judges no matter what they did, and I thought some didn't deserve to leave when they did.

I did enjoy the series though.  The stories of the recipes that the contestants shared were quite interesting and clearly very loving memories of their families.  The multi-cultural aspect of the show made it very enjoyable to watch, giving a wide range of dishes.

I hope that PBS does additional seasons.
