mineral it's called (tongue in cheek but often called this) SORAP or Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome. It happens to the best of the shows.

I don't know if you're a soap fan but many of us here are. We deal with this all of the time. We don't like it, but it's been going on forever.

I googled it and it's even on the internet as this name.
