I have never seen this show, so I probably shouldn't be commenting, however I wanted to anyway! Does it bother anyone else, that there is this normalizing of prostitution almost everywhere in society, entertainment industry? It was only a few years ago that I heard about this thing called the "girlfriend experience" (not the tv show). Feel like the whole concept of it denegrates the idea of an actual relationship.
Ok, said my piece! Be kind ....

I've watched both seasons. THought Season 1 was good. Season 2 was depressing - even the sets and wardrobe were dismal and gloomy - I think this was on purpose, but it just left one feeling dispirited so I hope they lose the bleak set decor and cheerless fashion.

Was this the show with Riley Keough?

I don't get Starz, but have heard of this show. I just look at these type of shows as the dumbing down of society. People will watch anything these days, so no surprise that they exist. Whatever makes money.

@moonandthestars My take on prostitution has always been that's it's "normal," like death & taxes. Navada & Manhatten (not sure about the rest of NY) has legalized it. Manhatten will no longer arrest "sex workers." I am assuming "human trafficking" is NOT included in this law.
There are some males & females if truth be told that for one reason or another have trouble finding "normal" relationships so both are willing to "pay" for it. I consider it "renting." Like this old saying, "money cannot buy happiness but you can rent happiness."

I do have Starz but never watched this, do you need to see the other seasons first?

@CANDLEQUEEN Hard to say. The first 2 seasons was w/the same main character w/a continuing story line. How she go into the "business" & the outcome.
The 1st 2 season are on On Demand. Maybe watch a few episodes?
Season 3 is a whole new story line w/different characters & a different high end escort company.
If you want to know how these girls get into the high end escort services, watch the 1st 2 seasons. Otherwise, there is no reason to do so.

Prostitution is NOT LEGAL in NYC (illegal). That includes all of its boroughs (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island). The District Attorney of Manhattan who is not seeking re-election has said he will no longer prosecute women who sell sex. This does not mean that the people who solicit and engage will go scott free. This does not mean that the new new District Attorney will do what this District Attorney is doing. This is a complicated issue, since Prostitution is still illegal in every corner of the city. The District Attorneys don't make law, they uphold the laws so they can't single handedly legalize anything. Only the NYS and NYC legislatures can do this.
FYI there's a lot to be found on net so you can kind of make some sense of it, though I'm having trouble with understanding why the D.A. announces this is his last term.
