Re: The Exorcist - Season 2

[ Edited ]

This whole season was a waste of my valuable time.  The episodes w/the children were boring.

This season, the only interesting episodes was the back story of that female exorcist.  I thought it was interesting she was originally possessed by "transfer."  I hope next season there will be a back story of how she became an exorcist assassin.  She is no joke!!!!!

My take on Tomas & Marcus:

I believe Tomas is "spiritually" gifted.  He can enter & leave the "demons" mind.  The thing is **as of yet,** he has no control over this "gift."

Marcus is jealous of Tomas "gift" & his REAL job is to "teach/help" Tomas how to control his gift(s) so that he is able to enter & leave the demons mind at will w/o a psychic scratch.

I suspect this "teaching" will be prominant throughout the whole seasons.  I bet by the end of the final season, Tomas will be the Vatican's top exorcist because of his demonic & spiritual psychic abilities & the female exorcist assassin will be his partner.  Like Lucifer & Mace.

I agree @Mz iMac... The whole island of misfit kids pretty much sucked as far as I was concerned... It was the priests, nuns, servants of the demons and the Vatican shenanigans that drew me in... I didn't care for the kids or Andy from the get-go, so that pretty much iced this season for me. Honestly, I just didn't like the way the story unfolded or was told this time around.

Hardly heartbroken...  They got a reprieve last season and looking at what they did with their second chance, they hardly earned a third season... I'd like to have seen where they went with the story, but this entire season was a mistake as far as I was concerned.

Did anyone else catch the season 2 debut last night?  I thought it was really good, and they set everything up nicely for a really scary season.

We were introduced to two story lines that included Fathers Thomas and Marcus helping a young possessed woman in Montana whose husband and friends aren't too keen on the idea of an exorcism, and another storyline taking place in a big, beautiful old home on a remote island off the coast of Washington state.  There lives Andrew, played by John Cho, who has 5 foster children living with him.  We meet a rebellious teenage girl, a teenage boy on the autism spectrum, a devout Christian teenage boy, a blind teenage boy, and a painfully shy little girl.  When a social worker (who seems to have a romantic past with Andrew) arrives for a routine check on the kids and their living situation, things start to get spooky.

I spotted a few homages paid to some horror films in this episode including The Ring, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, and The Blair Witch Project.  I think that the first story line in Montana will be wrapped up soon, and the second one featuring the foster home will become the central focus of this season.  It's worth checking out.

Yep, definitely not deserved.  It's a shame, because they had so much good material, but couldn't get good writers who knew what to do with it.

@QPrincess

Link?

Google search turned up nothing regarding this show being cancelled.  All I found was that FOX has made no decision for season 3 yet.

Really? I just came across a couple of recent articles saying Fox is considering renewing it.

Sorry but I couldn't figure out how to link here. I receive emails from this site and it tells you what has been renewed or cancelled. They just said Exorcist not renewed by FOX.

It is www.renewcanceltv.com
