The Forresters must be the stupidest people on the planet. Eric, Brooke, Hopeless, etc. I think back to the old Dallas shows when mean old J.R. outfoxed everybody and it was mean and funny at the same time. These people are just dumb as stumps.

I wish $$Bill would buy 'em out and give the company to Caroline!

Having Spencer buy out Forrester would be GREAT! I think it would be interesting to see Bill and Eric form a bond. And there would always be conflict between Bill and Ridge!

Spoilers for week of Jan 5:

~ Rick makes an announcement that leaves everyone, especially Eric and Caroline in particular, shocked.

~ Ivy tells Maya that she, too, may be on the receiving end of a deceptive plan.

~ Ridge, Carter and Eric desperately look for a loophole that will get them out of their current situation.

~ Despite being conned by Rick, Caroline still feels love for him and continues to want to rebuild their marriage.

~ Rick's cutting reply to Caroline shows his dedication to Maya.

~ Caroline calls Rick out for what she perceives is his true reason for being with Maya.

~ Ridge is outraged when Eric comes to Rick’s defense, despite the wrongs Rick has done.

~ Maya, feeling empowered by Rick's position, does not waste a second in displacing Ivy and Aly from their home.

~ Rick is set to run Forrester without interference after Eric leaves town.

~ Rick makes some minor changes at the Forrester Mansion as he makes himself feel at home.

~ Caroline turns to her family for comfort in her time of woe and ultimately moves in with Liam.

~ Maya rubs her success in Caroline’s face, bragging that she has won in their long standing battle over Rick.

~ Ivy demands answers from Rick about his true motive for his power play at Forrester.

~ Rick seems to be the only one unaware of the true reason behind his offensive behavior.

~ Maya demands that Rick tell her if he truly loves her, or if he's just using her to get back at Caroline.

~ When Maya threatens to leave, Rick makes a choice that ends in a passionate tryst.

~ Maya brags to Carter about her hot night with Rick.

~ Carter suggests to Maya that Rick's interest in her is just a rebound.

~ Ivy advises Rick to think carefully, lest he lose Caroline forever.

~ Caroline's heart breaks when she discovers proof that Ridge is right about why Rick is treating her poorly.

~ Caroline fears retribution if Rick finds out about her new arrangement with Ridge.

2015 Previews

~ Rick keeps trying to keep his spot as Forrester's CEO, but he shouldn't get too comfortable in the center seat, because Ridge is tired of taking orders from his younger brother. A battle for control ensues, and even though Rick may have gotten an early lead with his authoritarian ways, Ridge is ready to give Rick a fight. The power struggle extends to a whole assortment of characters, including not only Ridge and Rick, but Katie, Maya, Caroline and all the Forresters. Let the battle begin!

~ Caroline remains trapped by the guilt she feels about kissing Ridge. She still loves her husband, but there is undeniable chemistry between her and Ridge, and she has to deal with that.

~ Having taken time to get her head together and find who she is, Brooke returns to L.A. Will she have learned anything about herself during her trip to Milan? And how does she feel when she finds out what's been going on in her absence?

~ Look for Brooke to be involved in a story that Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell has wanted to do for years. Bell promises that this story will challenge Brooke like never before and take her down a new path.

~ Hope's departure from L.A. sends Liam and Wyatt into a new trajectory, putting their relationships to the test. And while Liam and Ivy's romance may be blossoming, a new face in town might be someone from Liam's past. Executive Producer and Head Writer Brad Bell promises that his plans for the Spencer brothers will create a chance for a major acting challenge for Ashleigh Brewer as Ivy, who proves herself to be every bit a Forrester.

~ Bill and Katie, both formidable in their own right, find a new respect for each other and rediscover what they meant to each other. The combination of those two creates a powerful team that could spell trouble when the Spencers go head to head with the Forresters.

~ Deacon and Quinn face conflicts that could interfere with any hopes of romance between them. Hope's dad finds it difficult to face the issues that have arisen out of Quinn's actions toward Hope, but he and Quinn will try to resolve their differences. Can these two people who have made mistakes dispel the old adage and show that two wrongs CAN make a right?

~ There will be some new residents coming to live in the Forrester mansion, and Aly's none too happy about having to share with the newcomers. Look for tension to arise as Aly takes on the new people in her grandfather's home.

~ Fred Willard will continue to recur as Eric's brother, John Forrester. Bell has plans for the elder Forrester brothers to be a critical part of the show in 2015.

~ Stephanie's portrait always reminds everyone of the place the late family matriarch played in the lives of her loved ones, rivals and enemies. Look for a storyline centered around the portrait in 2015.

I haven't figured out why Ric thinks he can move into the mansion with Maya and move everyone else out. He doesn't own it, Eric does. I'm not sure why Aly and Ivy have to go anywhere, or did I miss something? Also, I can't wait for Maya to get hers. I am sick of seeing that smirk of a smile and her rolling her eyes at everyone. I hope 2015 does get better, because some of last year (Liam/Hopeless/Wyatt triangle) was enough to bore me to death. I am looking forward to seeing Katie and $Bill go at the Forresters, this could get really interesting!

You know that saying, the bigger they are the harder they fall? This is going to be Rick and Mya IMO. Some of the things they are saying and doing are ridiculous. Such as taking over Eric's house and evicting people, if that's how it plays out.

If Caroline really wanted to get back at Rick, she should call that scandal magazine to ambush Rick and Mya in their "love" nest even if it is negative publicity for Forrester.

I guess when you/I/we choose to watch a SOAP we have to realize that the writers can and do whatever they want to the characters we've vested in.

They used to stay (relatively) true to the personalities/history of the characters. The don't do that now. It's like everything these days. The writers are replaced so often even the people that work with them don't know who they're seeing each day sitting across from them at work. Thus the new writers dive in not taking into account the history of the characters they're now writing for.

My guess (also based on pictures I've seen of some writers) they're relatively young (i.e. in their 20's, 30's and maybe 40's). They've moved from one show to another, never really being able to spend time researching their character's history.

As far as the law (what can and can't be done legally) soaps are notorious for ignoring all of that. How many times have we all sat and watched TV and said, "I'm not a lawyer, but even I know that can't be done". I'd normally put in a Ha! However I've been told it isn't acceptable these days.

I have gotten to the point with B&B where either I don't watch it at all and delete my DVR or I FF over most of it. It's so infuriating, I'd rather not look at it.

That's how soaps are though. They're meant to have good people but mostly very EVIL people.

The good thing is these evil people usually do get their 'comeuppance" (to use an old word).

Ahhhhhhhh! Gotta love our soaps. At least they cause a reaction one way or another.

annabelle, this is the thing. The writers know that if a character is nice, they are considered boring and barely watchable. Just notice what we post about. Mya is very popular now...not in a good way but still popular. On messages boards, she and Rick are the most posted about. Quinn gets lots of posts. Poor Liam gets posts but ony about what a wimp he is or they say he's just plain too blah. Same with Bill.

And yeah, at the whim of the writers, you are either nice or mean. Mya was nice, now evil. Caroline was nice, then evil, and now nice again. The nice ones have to play victims, unfortunately.

Also, most of the time the evil (or characters who have so much strife in their lives) are the one's who get nominated for Emmys.

That's one reason actors are so anxious to play the bad guy. If you read interviews when asked which they'd rather play. Probably 98% would say, bad guy or something bad happen to them (of which they obviously survive).
