The Blacklist finale is going...animated!

It’s been a few years since I’ve watched The Blacklist, but I thought this bit of news was interesting and may make me tune in!

According to ew.com, The Blacklist will use a combination of live action and “graphic-novel-style animation” to conclude the season due to Covid-19 production shutdown. Sounds like the season was supposed to go longer, but has also been shortened due to Covid. The show’s stars recorded audio from home to fit the animation.

The finale will air May 15th at 8pm ET/PT

Like I said, this may make me tune in. I admit I also watched some of American Idol to see how they reacted to the quarantine. It’s interesting to see the creative ways people are responding.

I wonder why they couldn't do the rest of the season using "live action?"

Not sure I understand your question.  Many shows needed to shut down before their seasons were over because of Covid Shelter at Home requirements.  They are unable to finish their season.

Do you mean why they couldn't use animation for the remainder of the season?  I assume it's difficult and kind of a one trick pony that people will get tired of.  Also haven't seen the final product.  May be a train wreck (which I'm not saying it will, but it may.)

@FancyPhillyshopper   I agree!!  We look forward to The Blacklist every week and this should be interesting to watch.

@Alter EgoThank you for the info-I hadn't seen anything about this.

Only 2 more episodes this season.  Bummer.

This sounds interesting, but so sad to see a season finale coming so soon.  It seems like this season just started.

I loved seeing Anthony Michael Hall as Ressler's brother!  I hope to see more of him.

I still can't figure out what in the world Ilya knows that would make Liz's mother torture him like that.

@Cakers3 It's like they're hoping viewers have forgotten about the suitcase.  It has to be somebody important for Tom, Mr. Kaplan, and the doctor to have lost their lives over the identity of the remains.  I still think the guy we see each week is the real Raymond Reddington, so I have no idea who those bones would be.  I also wonder what the big secret is that Dembe almost revealed.  Seems like Liz's mom would be trying to stay undercover and not in one place since she's wanted and all.

@wildcat fan  "I still think the guy we see each week is the real Raymond Reddington"

You must have blinked and/or fell asleep last season & part of this season.....

It was established/confirmed that Red is NOT "Raymond Reddington."

It was established/confirmed that Illya is NOT "Raymond Reddington."

I believe the bones in the suitcase belongs to the real RR.  The REAL question is.......

WHO is the PERSON impersonating "Raymond Reddington?"

And I believe Denbe knows.  A few seasons back & early on this season Denbe has asked the fake Red, when is he going to tell Elazibeth the truth?  We the audiance was never prevy to what the "truth" is since Liz already knows RR is NOT who he says he is.
