I never saw the original (1956). The one with Rob Lowe wasn't bad but one after that was awful and corny.

I think the original "Rhoda" had a role in the both of the newer versions as a psychologist???Patty McCormack?

Grace McKenna was the Bad Seed in the movie that preceeded this one.  She was also in the one that was on last night, she and father co-produced the film.  I agree it was well over the top.  Since she managed to once again elude justice, we can expect to see another round of the Seed with the very bad little brother who survived the fire. Lifetime seems to have really sunk to a new low in some of their movies when it comes to violence.
