Seven of the nine teams still remaining returned. Only two had to drop out. That's not too bad. The new format with a chartered jet for them all added a few new twists. The cast wasn't told where they were going. They all just boarded their chartered 757 without knowing where they were going until they got there. That's kind of neat. It also eliminated a lot of the security hassles with flying on commercial flights. They could just climb aboard their chartered jet and off they'd go. It sounds like they might be planning to keep the chartered jet for future seasons also. It does solve a lot of their problems.

Another Wednesday and another episode. The race restarts tonight after their long covid shutdown. The race picks up with their new flying bubble 757 jet dragging the cast and crew around the world. It'll be interesting to see how they adjust the show. Do they avoid the big cities and go more for the country settings? There really haven't been a lot of "epic/memorable" city events, but the country ones have been pretty neat, like the cheese rolling down a hill, the pole vaulting over dikes, and more.

Another episode tonight. Bungee jumping from a high dam looks to be on the show tonight, so that could be fun.

This season is answering the question of, "I wonder how the teams eliminated early would do if they could restart and do it all over again?" Well, it turns out they'd still do the same. Last night was a non-elimination leg, but as was true on the original second leg, the same team came in last that came in last on this restarted second leg. Maybe the bad teams are just bad and not unlucky. So, two weeks into the restart we've seen the two teams that finished last in the first two legs come in last on the restarted legs. It's the deja vu season of TAR.
