Re: The Affair - Fifth and Final Season (Spoilers Possible)

Poster correct who said reading these comments are more entertaining than the show. Wish y'all could write this season's script.

Husband gave up and stopped watching. Neither Allison or Helen are appealing people -- but men seem to think so. Mind boggling.

Yes, completely confusing about the headstones!!!

This show is so crazy now, it's impossible to decipher anything. (I like reading all the smart and funny posts here about the show...they are more entertaining than the darn show!)

I THINK the name on the headstone behind Cole's grave was GABRIEL LOCKHART, which must have been Cole's father, because the dates on the stone had him dying at age 36. Didn't he die by suicide?

I guess Cole and Alison's son, also named Gabriel, was named after Cole's father, but where is his grave??

The dates on Cole's headstone indicate he died at age 74. I miss Cole! I miss Allison! Their dynamic and their storylines were so much better than the Noah and Helen endless saga of misery and angst and whining.

@TurnerGal

I am laughing out loud at your question because after every episode I ask myself, WHY am I still watching this?? Who cares what happens to ice-cold, self-centered, miserable Helen and her equally annoying daughter, Whitney??

And yet...Apparently I care because I watch the darn show every week.

🙃

Yes, the name on the headstone is Gabriel; Cole's father, who did commit suicide.

@mom2four0418

Thanks for the info about the "Gabriel" headstone. I actually miss the whole Lockhart farm storyline and the brothers and the matriarch. Far more interesting than Helen and the movie star, whose shiny veneer appears to already be tarnishing.

@Estates

Agreed! Poor baby Eddie...his mother is a total nutcase and it looks like a 12-year-old girl next door is his primary caretaker.

I cannot believe Jennifer Jason Leigh was wasted in such a stereotypical and cliched role as Sierra's aging actress mother. @jeanlake is correct...the posters here should have written the final season! I personally would have immediately written Helen out of the storyline! 😊

@MarnieRez3  I kept holding my breath worrying for that baby. First in the parking lot then the accident. My goodness,between her and her mother,that baby needs all the help he can get!And not a 12yr old!

I don't understand why Sierra doesn't hire help for Eddie.  She lives in an affluent area, and Vic must've left his son something in his Will.

Yes, it makes no sense. She seems to have plenty of money and apparently her mother does too. Get a babysitter! Ms. Pembroke is right...that baby looks like it is in serious danger.

It was mentioned during Vic's funeral episode, that he left EVERYTHING to his parents.

I am assuming his house is paid for.  Unknown if Helen's name appears on the deed.  Vic's mama is not making any claims on the house either.
