I resisted watching it thinking it would be like the Waltons or very Hallmarky.   It is..... but I love it.  It is so nice to watch something not about drug cartels, murder, natural disasters or science fiction craziness.

Thanks for the recommendation. I am always looking for shows like this...just good, human being, "stories.". I had heard about Heartland, but never really checked it out. I'm currnetly binging "Friday Night Lights", on Amazon Prime,which I had never seen. It's so good, acting and stories...love it!  In case you'd think it's "all about football" it is, but it's really all about the main family (Coach's family) and all the various characters' in town stories.

I am watching it on UP tv as I type!

I am also watching it on Netflix!  It has become one of my all time favorite shows.  I am so glad you are enjoying it.  It is so very uplifting.

I watched this show a couple of years ago, I really enjoyed it. It is hallmarky but so refreshing.  And I loved that it was centered around horses. I may just start watching it again.

And I would add zombies, demons and viruses to your list. So tiring.

For those of us who don't have cable or subscription services, Heartland can be viewed daily for free on LightTV fron 6:00 to 8:00 pm Eastern.  LightTV is a digital subchannel; here in the Philadelphia area, it's aired by the local Fox affiliate.

The writing and acting in Heartland is something Hallmark could only dream about.  So much better they are not in the same class IMO.  I consider Hallmark to be the movie version of a Harlequin novel and wouldn't waste my time watching.

I've only seen the show once or twice because the cable co. had UPTV and a couple other channels for free at the beginning of the pandemic. It's a good show. Just wanted to mention that Chris Potter who is in the show used to be in the Good Witch series on Hallmark. He played the sheriff who married Cassie Nightingale. I think he left to do Heartland.

I tried this series, but couldn't get into it.

Now that I'm running out of things to watch, I will re-subscribe and try it again.
