I still am concerned that "misconduct" has become a sort of umbrella term, for unspecified transgressions.  Had read earlier today about Smiley, and was struck by the number of unsourced allegations and innuendo in the account.   I strongly feel that people must back up their facts, use their own names, and go carefully, no matter who the latest accusee (is that a word?) is.

It's hard to know who to beleive at this stage

I watch a British soap and a few years ago, there were 3 of the male actors on one show ,that were accused of being a sexual predator

The show immediately put them on suspension, until it got sorted

All three cases went to trial and all three men were cleared

I am so torn about this stuff. My own daughter had someone sexually harass her at work, and sued ,and won. My inclination is to believe the victim but, so much ugly stuff has happened to innocent men, it's just become an avalanche of accusations

Cherry, I do agree with you. I’m not saying that all of these women are lying or anything even close to that. It’s just that everything just seems to exploded to the point that no one is safe.  And with things coming out of the woodwork at the rate that they are, it just seems that there needs to be some sort of due process to all the parties on both sides of the issue.

I know that in my day, I was sexually harassed but didn’t do anything about it. Then again, if I were to be totally honest, in today’s climate I could be accused of the same thing. I wouldn’t have thought so at the time, and there was certainly nothing in my intent, but one of the docs that I worked with didn’t wear scrubs too often but when he did he looked good.  And I used to giggle and say “nice a**, now give me a little spin”.  It was a joke, and nothing illicit was meant by it, but looking back now it certainly wouldn’t fly.   And yet, I can assure you it was nothing more than an innocent joke.

I became aware yesterday of an old picture of Joy Behar and Robin Williams together.  She had her hand totally on his crotch and the look on his face was one of “OH MY!!!!!!”  They were laughing and I am sure that at the time it was all meant in good fun.   I only mention her because she has been one of the most vocal critics on all of these men, calling for the immediate repercussions for them without any discussion or investigation into the facts at all. Following her own standards, shouldn’t she be relieved of her duties at The View?

I don’t have the answers, that’s for sure, but it just seems to me that everyone needs to slow down and take a deep breath.
