Anyone seen this video of "Tom Cruise" golfing? THAT ISN'T HIM! It's a video produced using DEEPFAKE technology and it looks just like him. I think the technology could be dangerous.

There are a few others with the fake Tom Cruise.

I agree that this could be used in a negative way and could actually cause harm.

We've already seen problems with the start of other technology-fake FB accounts, etc.

(The hairline and height do not match )

There's one of the Queen from last Christmas 2020. It was really sort of amazing to see how realistic things and people can be made to look and act.

The video is not about TC. It's about the techology used to make the video.

That's frightening, especially when politicians use the technology to smear their opponents, to make them appear to say or do things they didn't say or do.  I've heard it's already been done, and the technology will surely be improved.  We won't know who or what to believe any more.

Deep Fakes are extremely dangerous and disturbing as the technology used to make them can make anyone appear to be doing or saying anything at all, legal or illegal, kind or obnoxious, politically correct or racist. I have previously read that there are deep fake pornographic videos of popular female movie stars out there on the dark web, and that is beyond disgusting.  

I find the video of Tom Cruise imperfect as his body movements appear awkward and unnatural-- which they are -- as those movements represent a conglomeration of Tom Cruise's movements from numerous videos that were combined to make artificial simulations of his body movements, rather than depict actual movements of him playing golf.

That's awful about the porn stuff. I would be outraged if that happened to me or anyone I know. Like you said..."disgusting".
