I just read some disturbing stuff nosing around about their beliefs. No higher education whatsoever for women. Of course homeschooling isn't a choice its a requirement and absolute submission in all things to men. Keenly left out by TLC as they want to shine them up and make them look normal. I don't care what a person's religious beliefs are, there is no way a woman is merely put on earth to make babies. Misogynist much "Quiverfull believers"? I suddenly feel very sorry for every daughter they have. I thought they were just ignorant for believing the entire world population could fit in the state of Florida. They are far worse than just ignorant, the "Quiverfull Believers" are dangerous misogynists. As bad as Scientology and Polygamy. Straight out of several newspapers. They can't all be wrong.

Interesting.....Two of the girls are trained midwives (obviously woman's work). Guess that's OK because you are helping to bring more babies into the world.

As for home schooling, I know several kids that are home schooled and they are both college material. The Duggars are traveling around so much, when do the kids get their schooling? I'm sure the Duggars use a program that is based on their beliefs. What little bit I've seen, the schooling is usually supervised by the older kids...always girls.

The Duggars have repeatedly denied being Quiverful. I see no reason to disbelieve them and I really don't think they would lie.Their children get GEDs like other home schooled kids and then take college courses online as many young adults do these days. Two of the older girls are getting certified - one as a mid-wife and one as a doula (birth coach).

And, yes, "several newspapers" can be wrong. Most likely because this would not be in a real newspaper but rather a tabloid.Threads like this are not so veiled attempts to bash the family. As Cyndi Lauper sang - I see your true colors.

There are actually websites where people are taking bets on who is going to go 'to the dark side'.

I can't remember which one they said. I think it's the one who wants to be the country singer. Boo! Now I can't remember. All of their names are the same.

I was just one a website asking where the Browns on TLC's Sister Wives get all of their money (four brand new houses) and someone said, "Come on people. TLC only does shows about freaks".

But I don't think that's true. I really like the show called "The Little Couple". They are amazing. Their family is beautiful. I think that show educates people that just because someone looks different, they aren't.

Anyway, the Duggars make me sick the way these women get pregnant as soon as one baby gets out!

I just think, "What would this world be like if everyone thought that way". Then I've read where people say, "Leave the Duggars alone. Their children are bright eyed now like other kids who sit in front of TV's and computer games all day long".

Well, I don't know who's children are allowed to sit and watch TV and computer games all day long, I guess there are some, but most kids have to go to school during the day.

The thing that makes me sick about the Duggars is the father. He is always, always pawning all over his wife. To the point where it is ugh! I saw a little of an episode where the parents were playing put put golf with one of the girls and her boyfriend and the father goes up behind his wife and pushes in to her and starts kissing all on her and comments (to the camera later) "You won't be able to do this for a long time". Ugh! I thought that was just sic kening.

Just watch one of the shows where he's on it with his wife. It doesn't take long for him to act that way. She just stands around. The children are divided into groups with an older sibling the 'controller'.

I don't see where the mother does much except 'exist' for her husband.

Do you guys know that the son and his family is living here in the Washington, DC area as a representative for something or other (I forget what it is for)?

He's been living here for not quite a year now. They (The Duggars) visited him around Thanksgiving.

Josh Duggar has worked as a political consultant since 2006. He, Anna and their kids moved to Washington, DC as Josh accepted a job as the executive director at Family Research Council Action, the lobbying arm of the conservative advocacy group.

"Several newspapers" can be wrong about almost everything everyday. Of course, they probably are extremely wrong about the Duggars because the Duggars represent everything most journalists despise. They are conservative and religious.

I have to say that having that many children is something that i really don't understand but the mom is fantastic with them. And, geez, I see her travelling by herself to speaking engagements, etc all the time. Doesn't seem like her husband is keeping her down. And , geez, the oldest son is working in Washington for a conservative group. Oh-oh, better watch out for him. I cannot beleive the hate that goes on for certain groups of people. If you don't like their lifestyle then watch the total opposite -The Kardashians.

Their own website wouldn't be. This religion is full of Misogynists attempting to abuse women. Do you believe the entire world population can fit in the state of Florida? I've heard this poor excuse for a "Man" husband of hers say this. I stopped watching. Double standards as well as outright sexist ignorance can't be tolerated by any community in this era. Something tells me you don't believe in Climate Change and are convinced that the world population can fit in Florida.

Well you would be wrong then. What I do believe in is not criticising someone else's lifestyle and/or religious beliefs when you have no way of knowing exactly what they are because you don't live in their home and you haven't spoken to them personally about their faith. And no religion has a monopoly on abusing women and children. They all have their predators.

I had not watched 19 Kids and Counting at all until this season. I was drawn in when I heard about the 2 daughters in courtships. I thought Jill and Derek's courtship and engagement was just charming, I loved watching it. I found the family so interesting that I listened to all 3 of their audible books and really enjoyed them.

Not a big fan but Jill and Derrick make such a cute couple. I'm happy for them. They should be getting married this month. That's what I read online.
